View Full Version : 3 Z8's for sale
BabyM 04-01-2004, 05:06 PM If anyone is interested there are 3 2003 Z8's for sale at Brian Harris BMW
http://www.brianharrisbmw.com
They're 140k each. I might have to go for a little test drive.
Oh, and one of them is an Alpina.
Leif E. Bronn 04-01-2004, 05:58 PM All 3 are Alpina's.
BabyM 04-01-2004, 08:07 PM Ok.
I didn't look at the silver ones too closely --I just remember the black one from the last time I was at the dealership :)
MGregski 04-06-2004, 02:27 PM How much?
BabyM 04-06-2004, 02:49 PM That would be a buck 40 --pocket change no?
MGregski 04-06-2004, 03:18 PM Sure.:D
count_schemula 04-07-2004, 01:20 PM alpina is the 4.4, not the M5 engine right?
MGregski 04-07-2004, 01:39 PM alpina is the 4.4, not the M5 engine right?
No, it's a modded M62 (540) engine. From what I heard it has more torque than the S62 (M5) motor, but not as much HP. It is also offered with a slushbox only.
BabyM 04-07-2004, 02:07 PM I found this on http://www.bmwworld.com ...
The original Z8 was powered by the BMW V-8 5.0 liter 394 hp M engine, the same engine used in the BMW M5.
The Alpina Z8 uses the B10 engine, a specially developed version of BMW's "regular" V-8 engine. The Alpina engine is a 4.8-liter with 375 hp, with individual throttles for each of the eight cylinders and many other racecar-like engineering features. The power peak of the Alpina engine comes at 5800 rpm vs. 6600, and its torque peak occurs at the same 3800 rpm but is actually higher, with 383 lb-ft. (vs. 368 lb-ft).
MGregski 04-07-2004, 02:40 PM Good info.
fortysix 04-12-2004, 04:51 PM What did the Z8 retail for? What about with all the Alpina upgrades?
Leif E. Bronn 04-12-2004, 05:24 PM I'm not sure what the MSRP for the Alpina Z8 was but the regular Z8 had a MSRP of $130,000
fortysix 04-12-2004, 08:23 PM HOLY!
I had no idea, I just thought it was around the Z3/Z4 price range. Wow.
alexd 04-14-2004, 01:17 PM We just sold an 02 WITH 1000 MILES FOR $110k.

Was it an Alpina or regular Z8?
alexd 04-14-2004, 03:24 PM No it was not an Alpina, the guy that traded it bought our Alpina.
Jwright 04-23-2004, 03:54 AM I saw a black Alpina a while back at the hardware store....that thing was sweeeet!
BabyM 04-23-2004, 05:42 PM Yes, Z8s are well known beasts of burden, good for hauling stuff. :stickoutt
I've seen only 2 outside the showroom, one at a bar and the other on the street as the owner was learning how to drive it
MaloventEvil 04-24-2004, 04:50 AM a father of a girl who went to my high school bought 2 of them (both alpina) one was black and the other was silver.
E34nication 05-06-2004, 04:39 PM the alpina is very nice looking but i'll stick w/ the 6-speed.
WebDev 05-07-2004, 11:41 AM Used to see them come out on nice days when I was living in Greenwich. Nice looking ride.
StouffvilleZ3 05-07-2004, 04:05 PM I've seen one on the road, but never an Alpina.
There a dark blue on beige interion for sale at our stealer here in Markham.
Ben Carufel 05-09-2004, 01:22 AM Saw three Alpinas in one day the other day. Thought I was seeing double. (triple?)...
Two black ones and a silver one. Nice looking cars -- I think San Diego/La Jolla probably has more of them than 99% of the rest of the USA.
With only 10k miles and clean siver with red leather interior i couldnt beleive that it was only 95 G's. My mother a year ago wanted to buy one for MSRP at the local dealership...but they said they werent for sale...just cuz they knew that they would get 120k more. SOME IDIOT.
There could of been a Z8 in the garage to galk over, but for now i guess ill have to stare at the Damn 03 Porsche Targa silver with aero kit and sport exhaust with smoked clears, DAMN!
:redspot
The Alpina is automatic and the regular Z8 lacks LSD, but it's still a sweet car.
BabyM 05-10-2004, 07:28 PM the regular Z8 lacks LSD, but it's still a sweet car.
Wow. I wonder why they would make such a nice expensive car without it? I was puzzled as to why my car came with an open diff too.
hozehead4 05-20-2004, 11:59 PM An automatic Z8? That's a real shame!
jimmyz2 05-25-2004, 03:45 PM I sat in Carlos Santana's silver Z8 while he was checking out my sound system in my 540i.No,he would'nt give me a free cd.
BabyM 05-25-2004, 04:06 PM Should've asked him to trade....
:stickoutt

There was one at BMW of Macon a few weeks ago, it was there for a while but I'm not sure if they still have it. You can call them at 478-757-7000.
surfacewound 06-01-2004, 06:34 PM a father of a girl who went to my high school bought 2 of them (both alpina) one was black and the other was silver.
OMG, did you date her? You'd get the best of both worlds; drive' daddy's Z8 and stick it in her pooper. :devillook
BabyM 06-01-2004, 07:18 PM It looks like Brian Harris still has two:
http://www.autobase.com/cgi/list.exe?page=2&dealer=BHBMW&type=new&make=bmw&perpage=75&thumbnail=1&certified=1
If you end up calling them, talk to Hedrick or Walter and tell them I referred you --I need some 'rep' points for when buy my next car...
Surfacewound you're terrible :devillook
surfacewound 06-02-2004, 02:20 PM Seemed like a win win situation to me... :dunno
