i've got some break dust build up on my OEM 16 inch alloy rims, and the brake dust seems to be slightly rusting onto the rims. i can get some off, but not all. is it safe to use a more abrasive scrubber, like steel wool, to get off the brake dust? if not, can you guys recommend something?
thanks!

If it's baked on, pretty much the only way you're going to get it off without scratching the survace further is to clay it. Anything that's abrasive enough (steel wool  ) is going to scratch the painted surface.

I'll get you the name of a cleaner that will do the job.

Try some Meguiars Body Scrub on a MF towel or applicator pad and put some elbow grease into it.
If that doesn't work, then maybe some 3M FI2
