Right so if you got a manual for this car , as i don't i never got one when i bought it.
Can you tell me what it the BMW recommeded oil for the S14.
And if possible the minimun and maximun weight oil for the engine.
Thanks
Hmm... I don't have a manual, but I run Amsoil 0W-30 without any problems. I am going to be using a new e36 m3 tensioner due to the very thin oil though. My friends use it and it works geat. I remember you saying something about you not being able to get it in Europe though.

I don't feel like going out in the cold right now, but I'm pretty sure it recommends 10W40 for winter and 20W50 for summer. I say screw that. I am using Mobil 15W50 year round in mine, but it's old and needs a rebuild. It also weeps oil from the front timing cover gaskets.
Bry--your cyl head doesn't make too much racket with 0W30?? If not, then I'm going to try some thinner stuff soon.

Actually, from the previous thicker oil (I'm not sure what the P.O. put in) the valve train noise decreased. My motor feels like it runs a lot better now.

Although I don't have it in front of me, I am 99% sure the recommended oil weight is 15W50

I'm still trying to get some help from Castrol, they did send me some info what it wasn't what I want, I'll keep you posted.
So does the M3 have the same manual as anormal one or is it totally diiferent one?
As far as I know you get the normal one and a supplment one which is just for the M3. I'll have to see if I can get one from BMW.

Dean Talehanzar's (not sure of spelling) M3? I noticed the description of your car and it sounds like Dean's car to the T. Awesome car.
