My mom's 996 is more trouble than its worth. I would love to see my mom get back into a BMW when she gets right side up on the Porsche. She needs something that doesn't break down 3 times a year, and is more affordable, but still has enough power to help with Post Porsche Withdrawal.

Insuring a 996 packs a punch, I'm wondering how it compares with E46 M3 insurance. I did a search, but didn’t find anything too helpful. So if you guys wouldn't mind letting me know how much you pay, and which insurance company gets your check, I would be much appreciated. I'd call and ask our insurance company, but we are thinking of switching anyways, I dont' think it will be worth it.

I was looking into that, and for a 25y.o., a '02 M3 with $1,000 deductible it came out to $598/ 6 mo.

The E46 M3 may in fact save you some money. My insurance premium was $125 a month when I had a '99 M3. It went down to $88 a month when I switched to a 2004 M3.
