i am getting rib of my ghetto box with 2 10" subs,. they sucked etc,.. they were some no name generic brand,. (zeus) from chinatown NYC,. hahaha
i fell into some money and decided to go a more stealth route,..
how about this,. i want to do 1 12" sub - not decided yet,. and make a custom box to fit against my rear seats. I have a 4dr with the ski hole punched out.
so the question is- can i get one good 12"sub, and build a really narrow box as long as its built to proper cubic feet etc.. i need to have more trunk space,.( my main issue)
will it work properly even though its really narrow.
i need 1 good sub that runs well by itself, anything recommended will be considered,. also what kind of amp should i be running to power it,.wattage wise
( im looking to spend about 200ish, possibly less if i need too)
( im looking for the most thump for the money)
i have a sony explode amp that i have around the house, it is 150x2 would i be able to use this one instead of buying a new one( or should i try and use this toward a front component set that i will be getting in a lil bit?) or will that be too much power?
(again, dont wanna spend money that i dont need to)
also since the sub is a 2 channel one, would it sufficiently run the new 12"? is there any way to not make it a 2 channel? etc, bridging it,.or whatever its called i dont know what this means but a car stereo shop mentioned this. any help on this would be appreciated too!
any input, suggestions will be appreciated,
but the thing is i need to build a box, that is somewhat narrow, and not being able to use most of my trunk space really bothers the hell out of me. i have a cousin with a woodshop that will help me make the box, cutting etc. just need to do the measurements with it. so thats not a problem
this electronic stuff is what really confuses the hell out of me.
thanx
