View Full Version : Lowe's Autofair in Charlotte, NC
mscott 03-26-2004, 12:24 AM Thought I would spread the world. Next weekend, Sat. April 3rd, the BMW CCA Tarheel Chapter has a spot at the autofair in Concord, NC. We are on the inside to the left. It starts at 8 am until I think 3pm. Good day to show of your car. :)
grecobeemer 03-26-2004, 06:59 PM Anymore info on this event?
bmwm3n528 03-27-2004, 02:41 AM we're going to try to make it out...looking forward to seeing your LTW!!
mscott 03-27-2004, 04:02 PM grecobeemer: try footnotes@carolina.rr.com You can also go to http://tarheelbmwcca.org. It's the local BMW CCA Chapter's website. They put it together every year.

HERE (http://www.lowesmotorspeedway.com/) you go. Its on their front page.
All weekend 8-6
I can't find any ticket pices. Perhaps its a few dollars at the door?
I think AbeM3 and I might show up.
MScott, where will you guys be; do you know? A banner anywhere to spot you?
buckwilly 03-30-2004, 12:41 PM I would be interested but I don't want to spend a lot of dough to bring my car in. Would rather spend it on some track time. Let me know if there is a monumental cost. Otherwise count me in.
bmwm3n528 03-30-2004, 07:25 PM Shoot an email to Bob Blood @ footnotes@carolina.rr.com ...if you're a CCA member and he'll get you a packet/passes out to you free of charge.
BTW, this is the only way you can have your car shown inside the track area.
mscott 03-30-2004, 09:08 PM This weekend @ Lowe's cost you nothing. Except maybe a sandwhich and a drink if you don't bring your own. When you contact footnotes@carolina.rr.com. He sends you two tickets and a pass to get in. If you can't show your car, I think it will cost you like $8 at the door.
///MDex: if you walk in the main entrance, as soon as you walk into the stands and your facing the track, we are to the left in turn 4, I believe on the front. Can't miss us. We will probably be the only good looking cars at the show. If you can't see us, go down onto the track and start walking to the left. ;)
AbeM3 03-30-2004, 11:32 PM $8.. I can't afford that!!
Cya there!
buckwilly 03-31-2004, 09:28 AM I don't think my car is worth showing, but if it will get me in for free I'm down. I will go if Abe and Mdex are going. Can I come and go freely in my car once I get in?
AbeM3 03-31-2004, 07:09 PM Your car ain't sh!t!! Hehe, just messing with ya bud.. .I think it's too late to show your car for saturday as I read over on DTM that the CCA guy is all out of tix. I think if you were to show it you would have to be there from 8:30 to 3:30 anyway... probably not good times to try and drive around. I'm not really sure tho as I have never been.

Not to drag this off topic but start thinking about SEMAG on April 17th! A caravan of bimmers would be a fun way to get down 85.

True. I may just park offsite and walk in with you and BW. SEMAG does sound like a hoot, just for the driving :)
buckwilly 04-01-2004, 09:02 AM Sounds good. I may just meet Mdex at the dyno and see how what he runs. Its always fun to look at superchargers in the mean time. SEMAG sounds good....I heard we are splitting up into groups in most parts of the tirp. Walkie talkies are on my wish list since cell phones are a joke in the mtns.
Anyone have a V1? Thats my next item of necessity.
AbeM3 04-01-2004, 07:25 PM Me and MDex have V1's... I have 2 5 mile walkie talkies as well..
///MDex 04-01-2004, 08:00 PM I have 2 5 mile walkie talkies as well..
Ditto
buckwilly 04-02-2004, 11:45 AM Then it is safe to assume what group I will be traveling in.
I am still saving for the V1, till then its my $35 radar detector that barely works and my keen sense of danger ahead and behind. LOL.
AbeM3 04-03-2004, 07:44 PM What a crap turn out from the BMWCCA.. .2 E36M's, another E36 that was mostly racecar (i think/hope) 2 Z3's and an E46. WTF! There were like 4 people sitting around and they didn't seem overly friendly.. I mean I had my M3 hat on and everything! Haha.
They were at the end of the end of the end of the end etc. Just about nowhere! Seems totally pointless to me.
mscott 04-03-2004, 08:00 PM There were 2 z3s, an e30 M3, 3 E36 M3's, an E36 M3 LTW, a Mcoupe, 1 735i, a 635csi, an e30 race car, an e36 race car, a 2002, an e46 M3, and about 3 more cars that I forgot. So about 16 in total. Everybody left around 3. The judging started at 12 and the awards where past out at 10. A decent showing, but apparently 10 cars did not show that requested tickets. Sad. That's exactly the reason why Lowe's gave us a crapy spot this year. Half the people don't show up who ask for tickets.
bmwm3n528 04-03-2004, 08:09 PM Sorry for the no show guys,
Cleaned the M this morning(cant drive a dirty M car to a car show :D ) ....so we ended up getting there at like 2ish, and by then it wasn't worth sitting in traffic all day to get inside the track.
Anyway, hope to see everyone at SEMAG this year, which for everyone's information is absolutely not a car show!
AvusMPower 04-04-2004, 01:45 AM Yeah I was there when the LTW, the 6er, and the M Coupe left. I was the dipshit standing around with a clemson hat goin "HOLY CRAP ITS A REAL LIGHTWEIGHT. HOLY CRAP NO SUNROOF. HOLY CRAP AN M COUPE. I KNOW IT LOOKS SILLY, BUT HOLY CRAP CAN IT MOVE. HOLY CRAP AN E30 M3. YEAH IT LOOKS FUNNY TOO, I KNOW." I dont think any fecies went unblessed today.
