Man this wasn't even close. I pulled out of a gas station and was driving down a 40mph road right around the speed limit. I see some BMW lights coming up quick from behind so I slowed down to check it out and when he got closer I noticed it was an e34. I let him pass me then he slowed up and rev'd a few times, there wasn't much traffic around and I noticed the light ahead was green so I slowed down to make sure we got the red light and then let him approach it first (that's when I noticed the 525 on the trunk).

This red light seemed to stay red forever, I couldn't see the driver because of his dark tint but I knew he was going to get on it by the way he kept the rev's going. Light goes green and I launch from about 2500rpms, 1st goes by really quick but as soon as I hit 2nd it was all over- I pulled about 2-2.5 car lengths before shifting to 3rd and from there I just kept pulling until he went away. There was another light coming up in about a mile and I was hoping we'd get to run again but he turned off before we got to it. Oh well, still had fun!

I'd say you had "power to weight" on him, man... :buttrock

Nice! Now if there were an e34 M5...

By the way, how is your Z DASC'd?

Yeah, I've dropped a few lbs off the Z too (spare, tools, bumper weights etc), and plus he was BOOOMIN' the entire time:D

reizor: DASC is running pretty good, I've put about 6k on it so far (didn't drive much from Nov-now) and I'm having a ball!

The e34s are nice, but the 525i is quite underpowered, with 0-60 times of almost 9 sec.

Glad you had fun, but wouldn't really consider this a kill as a stock 525i would have a hard time against a mom in a SUV. They are more of a highway cruiser and are somewhat decent once they get to speed.

Hey man, a kill is a kill. If he was that slow then he shouldn't have been looking for a race, I was just on my way to the gym ;)

A kill is a kill!

Way to chalk one up for us Z3ers. We don't seem to get much glory since Dave went to the darkside.

Nice kill, but that's just mean. :) It was probably an automatic, too... poor guy. :(

Eh he was just playing around, I doubt the 525 would've raced had any car besides a bimmer pulled up to the red. So don't "poor guy" him :)

Nice kill! :D

You should state in any kill story that you are blown. I know it, most people know it, but you know.

True, if I posted more in kill stories it would probably be common knowledge but I think I've posted maybe 4 kills since buying the Z3. One of these days I'll make a sig that will spell it all out

I'm thinking he most likely knew he was going to get spanked but just had to see what that Z would do. You know, once a bimmer lover, always a bimmer lover. You probably made his whole day!

I get a lot of that from 3 series and 5 series owners. They rev like hell, get me all fired up and I show them what they want to see. Never fails, at the next stop light they have a smile a mile wide and give me a thumbs up. Gotta love bimmer people! :D

You very well could be right, I do that a lot of times when I see a fast car on the road that I don't get to see everyday. I "raced" a GT3 in January............I wonder if he posted that in a P-car kill stories forum :)
