With a 15mm spacer you should be fine.

They do work and you will need to run the spacers probably front and rear. I would also say you may need to roll the fender lips. It is done all the time for racing applications. If I can help give me a call.

mine is a tad bit lower but i am running 245's all the way around so hopefully they will work.
he is not using a spacer in the rear with no rubbing i was surprised.

why would u want to put a spacer? wouldn't a spacer make the wheel wider and now u have to roll the fnerders. correct me if i am worng.

Depending on the application you may have clearance issues with the struts. The spacers eliminate this. I have an employee here racing an M3 and he uses the SSR Comp in 17X9 with a 10mm spacer.

what kinda suspension is your employee running?
will i need longer studs with 10mm spacers?
thanks

you will need longer studs for 10mm spacers. I run 17x9 all around and I use a 15mm spacer up front and 5 mm in the rear. I have a GC coilover suspension btw.

Yes you will need longer lug bolts. I have the spacers at 24.00 each and the lugs are 3.00 each. I am not sure which company he is using but he does have a coilover on the car and it is not a daily driver.

i thought spacers had a negative effect. do they not?

Please elaborate on negative effect?

If the spacer is hubcentric there is no negatives. It will actually widen the track and give more celarance for larger brakes and suspension mods.

hi jim,
i currently have 17x9 bbs rgr's on my 97 m3. i use the hoosier 245/40/17 or toyo ra1 255/40/17. i have a spacer in front and none at the rear.
i am wondering if i could go into a 17x10 wheel with the correct offsets in order to mount 275/40/17 tires by both hoosier and toyo.

Without pulling your fenders out I don't see anyway how you fit a 17X10 and 275/40R17 on the car.
