Im have the Roadster. I left work and noted an M5 was leaving as well. Both M's are black. I take teh Hway he takes a connecting road. AS luck would have it we meet on i-35.
Look I know an M5 is going to win any race... hence the spirited drive part. Well anyway he was in the lead, so I would need to anticipate any launches to stand a chance. I was able to on the on ramp, I stayed right with him and we had to slow.
He beat me to the launch the next few times. Seeing TX is a loser state... complete with cops that love to hide on entrance ramps I kept it down. Not that I woulda had him anyway.
Point is those M5s are FAST. They just get up and GO. If you ever see one say to yourself " Self, its a V8, its gonna whoop me even if I pull on it to begin with. Now, SELF, do i wanna see him launch or do I wanna get embarassed?" I would get him to launch a few times. Its pretty sick, NO Lag it just goes. Seems the I6's need to be given a .1th of a sec to get up. Not that the 3.2 is a slouch. Its plenty fast But 400HP makes up for a great deal.
He was a REAl cool guy and I'd loved to have stopped and chatted. I think for a few of my launches I could have stayed with him for a bit, then he woulda tore me up. Trouble was I had to prep for the launch. Meaning I had to down shift Etc. He was nailing it too, there was a Nice carbon smell when the revs got high. I didnt get to hear him b/c my exhuast was howling... and if you havent heard the Magnaflow ECIS combo at 80+ with screaming revs... YOu NEED too.
