As me and my friend brad are about to head home, we see a few ricers chilling at AM/PM
So we pull around and go in, get my mocha and come out and brad is already working on a deal/bet for me to race this Infinity Q45t. Now, If memory serves me correctly. Q45's are roughly TWICE what my car is new, like 50k$ and they have a pretty beefy V8 if I remember correctly. This car was a 93 the guy said. It was an automatic..but It was a fair match up I thought.
My 170ish RWHP (probobly less) and his 240ish RWHP.
So we take off from AM/PM and this guys friend in his 4 door integra follows along. He tries to do a fly by, I see it coming, and I downshift in to 3rd. I waited for him to get a 1/2 car behind me then I punched it, He pulled even then I continued to walk him like a cocker spaniel with low esteem and a bum leg.
So we get to the gas station in gleed, It's un-patrolled and out in the boondox and we set out the ground rules, first one to 100 mph gets 10$ (brads money, NOT mine).
the road is clear so we pull out on the Highway. We pull even, stop, brad counts to 3 and I rev too high and burn all the way through first and he just takes off and walks me all the way up to 100 and has me by about 2.5 cars.
We went again and this time I got a good launch and he gets traction and gets me by 1.5 car lengths when we hit 100.
So we go back to the gas station, Brads pays him, we talk for a while, He's actually pretty cool. Well, as cool as one can get with an obscenely HUGE wing on the back and off-color quarter panels can be. But, He was nice, wasn't stuck up or anything.
All things considerred, the bone-stock 325i Held up pretty well against the V8 with about 80 more HP at the wheels than I did. The Q45's are rated at 300 HP at the crank I believe. So I'm happy that I kept up as well as I did.
