I have a 92 318 and I wanted to turbo or super charge it, I have been reading that because of no detonation sensor not to do this. Has anyone put a nitrous system on this engine. if so how much of a shot can you give this little motor. I'm wan't to go at least 50 is this safe. Also who makes a good wet kit for this car.

i've looked into similar things, tho i think a mild FI is fine as long as u run premium gas. Mosselman, you can find it for as low as 2gs, or DASC, more expensive, but its a good system. as for nitrous, u'd have to get a universal system, i don't remember seeing anything 318 specific, might be out there tho. i'm not sure how much you can run, i'm not a nitrous kinda guy.

I have an M3 with a 75 shot wet nitrous system. I also have a 95 318ic. I've always wanted to put a system on that because it was really really slow. Anyways, a friend of mine (he's a bmw driving instructor and used to race bmws) told me not to do it especially on this particular model. He said that a part of the engine is weak. I'm not sure which one; it was a long time ago. I think the head gasket, although I might be wrong. Anyways, that was my first car, and his advise to me was to get an M3 motor on it if I want to go fast. After several years I just had to buy an e36 M3. My advice to you is kind of the same, save up for the M3. It should be cheaper now. It's definitely worth it. Everytime I drive my 318i; I feel like the E brake is still on.
