I ordered a stock replacement before researching and figuring out I should have bought a 318 alternator upgrade, so thats what I'll be using for now.

74 2002

I *think* I know where it is and how to get it out, but I could use some clarification (where is it exactly? and where is the voltage regulator?). Are there any complications I should watch out for?

If you know of any nice writeups w/ pictures that would be nice too. i seen the bmw2002faq writeup, but w/o some pictures its kind of like, sure that sounds easy, but then looking at the actual car it looks more involved.

I've done some general maintenence on my E36 myself (radiator, brakes, oil, suspension), but I'm no mechanic, could use all the guidance I can get.

Thanks

Not hard, it should only take about 30 minutes. If you can replace the radiator on the E36 you can do the alt in an 02. If you have any specific questions on how to do it let me know.
