I was coming home from work today and a 18-wheeler about 3 cars lengths in front of me kicked a tread. So now I have this beautiful front end. I had no where to go because it was rush hour. Was going about 70 mph. I think that this car is a maganet for shit....The driver of the truck didn't even slow. The truck trailer jumped about 2 times and a full tread shot out. I had no where to go.......It basicall tore the entire middle section of the front end off. It even ruptured the bumper sensor on the driver side. I can't shut off my hazards..I had to pull the fuse.......It even creased the driver side underbody pan.......

This damn thing weighs about 35 lbs.......the tires on the exploder are 265/65x16. This damn thing is big

oh ok i think i see it now tore threw the schnitzer and ur stock bumper. that sux. Does insurance cover something like this? Collision damage righ?

It will be alright. I take it tomorrow back to body shop for a est. I'm worried about the underside of the car and the front end. It pulls to the right now and feels loose. The car actually bucked when it hit me. Felt like the front wheels were going through the wells......So I want to make sure that it is looked at real hard.....The other thing is that the hazard blinkers will not shut off I had to put the fuse. I guess there is a relay that blew..if the impact is hard enough. If you look at one of the pics you will see 2 nuts with a fluid on them. That is the front left bumper shock. I guess it hit so hard that it broke the seal and the fluid is running out of it. The real crapper is that it was suppose to back in on Wed. for the final color sand and the side and rear acs skirts....now it will just be a little longer...or.......maybe time time hang the e34 up and move onto a 1999 540 Sport and ACS it out....parts will not be so hard to find....

I just started to think of all the shit that has hit our cars getting on 93 near the Fleet center and down town.

Ok everyone hold your horses...If the e34 goes it will go as a whole not pieced out. I actually started looking at the 545 e60 manual(if it comes this way). With the new ACS rims and ground effects.....When I first saw it I though it looked like a Grand Prix but I keep seeing them on the road and they look good. So I'm thinking Black on Black w/carbon fiber interior or brushed silver.:D

I went to the body shop today and have to take it back tomorrow. They want it up on a lift to check out the underside and suspension.......something is not right the entire front end feels loose and there is a wierd noise when turning the wheels that I never had before.....I checked it out at home on jacks but can't seem to find anything wrong?.I the owners wife was telling me a story about the daughter who had the same thing happen and had $8000+ damage to a SLK. Well I guess as long as the insurance covers it and I am not docked a point because the tire hit me not I hit the tire........

No i didn't get any info but 3 digits from the plate and the HWY Patrol said it is not enought to run the plate....After it happened I was going right to 50 and he was going left to 80 towards San Franscisco and a car was already behind him....You have know idea how pissed I was.......I walked back on the express way about 300 yds to get what was left of my front end and the tire..Just to make sure that the insurance company can't say a word.....the funny thing is that there is a Benz at the same shop same day and same place. I guess they were behind me. His front end was wiped also...small world.... small world

I don't wanna be pushy but there is a hell of a lot of E39 M5's out there, some with lots of great mods for way less than the price of a new 545... Let someone else take the hit.
