I keep on getting all these different numbers like 2500lbs all the way up to 3500lbs. Whats the 325i or 325ci weigh?

Believe it or not, the title for my 1990 325i sez 1900 lbs! Impossible, but that's what it says...

I'd guess ~2500, but it's only my guess.

Wow 1900? still though if their 2500lbs that would still be awsome. Think of the power to weight ratios!

Yes e30s are known for their lightweight when compared to the newer 3 series.

I believe the cabrio would be 3.5-4k lbs. As for the regular 325i with full interior etc, I would say 2700.

The 318iS, if without sunroof, or any other fancy luxuries, stock, weighs about 2500. That is the lightest an e30 came stock.

Just open your driver side door and look at the label.

Should say the weight from the factory I think.

The # in the door is uaully the gross vehicle weight...which I believe means the weight of the vehicle while fully loaded. It does not seem to reflect the car's unladen weight.

A 325i weights 2850 with full interior. Which is pretty light, but can easily be made lighter. The spare tire, and jack weigh about 40lbs. The exhausts on are cars are pretty heavy, and can be changed out for something lighter, or sraight pipes. I've probably taken out a 150lbs from my car all together.

Where did you get weighed?

I have always wanted to go up to one of those truck weighing stations to have them weigh my car. Think they would do it?

Go to a recycling station and go to the cardboard section;
They weigh by 20lbs so it'll be pretty accurate.

I'd say it's about 3,000lbs. Maybe alittle more.

Though I would certainly trust a scale the most, here's what my '89 Owner's Manual says:

(2 Door weights are listed; 4-doors seem to be about 40-lb. heavier, per the manual)

"Unloaded Weight, ready for road, tank full"

325i = 2811
325ic= 2987
325is= 2844
325ix= 2954

I don't have the specs on a 318.

In Oregon it is perfectly legal for a non comercial vehicle to use a weigh station when it is closed. I have weighed my 88 325 4dr at 2850 with out the spair. I think it was full of gas as well.

My 1987 325is weighed in at 2687lbs with 1/4 tank of gas, Ronal LS wheels, custom single 2.5" exhaust from cat-back (20-30lb savings), two amps and a CD changer (25lbs extra), no extra "crap" in the car or trunk, and removed A/C (about 40lbs).

The earlier cars were all lighter and they got heavier as the e30 progressed.Remember late cars have airbags and BMW added more insulation and sound material.Last conv was heaviest.Use NADA for closer numbers.1987 was lightest "i" car and 84 lightest "e"..no ABS. You can get these cars easy into 2500 lb range with race seats,light wheels, custom exhaust,no air,light flywheel,headers,etc.It all adds up..Enjoy..

They don't turn the scales off here. You just park on the pad and look at the digital read out. If it's dark they're not lit so sometimes it is hard to see. The display is normaly hanging off a post about 15' in the air. If they are different somewhere else I don't know what to do.

2500 is far from the lightest stock E30.

This should answer all your weight questions (doesn't seem to have convertables though):

http://www.bmwccaclubracing.com/2003%20Series/Rules/table_of_BMWs_Rev021123.pdf

the original E30 318i came in @ 2361lbs. Mine probably weighs high 22XX with a few removed items. :awink:

What's it weigh? Too much if you ask me...according to the label on the door sill...my 1987 325...3771 lbs. I can't believe it...I mean, don't you think that's a little much for a little car like that?

I had mine down to 1900pds w/o roll cage
for a local dirt track that I was going to destroy all the high talking mustang guys in the mini stock division!
Then some big shot bought the track a week before practice day and decided there won't be any independent rear suspension cars.:mad: :mad:

He sucks a55 to this day!
