Hi, as title states, just bought E34 540 6spd w/ ~97K miles. Still has original engine and compression tested OK! :95 Hope I made the right choice. :D I'll post pics when it's delivered in ~1 week (bought out of state). I'd like to plan some upgrades and would like to get some inputs. The upgrades I plan are:

1) headlights - some type of xenon upgrade - suggestions?
2) suspension - I want to put in coilovers vs sping/strut so I could get variable height adjustments. Could I use coilovers for an M5.
3) Strut tower brace - recommendations?
4) Chip upgrade - Looking at Dinan for now - any others? and why
5) Ultimately, I'd like to upgrade to a supercharger. I've seen the ESS kit for ~ $6K or the Dinan for ~ $8k. Anyone with have any knowledge on either or some other mfg? If I go with a SC kit, should I wait for the chip upgrade?
6) Finally some type of body kit. recommendations/pics?

Thanks alot for any info in advance. I'll post upgrades as I go along. I've also just joined BMWCCA and plan on taking the 540 to track sessions @ Summit (spelling?) in WV.

1- http://www.xenonfactory.com/products/hid/philips.htm

2- Coilovers from an M5?? Dunno. Check out www.ground-control.com -be warned that their website is a pain sometimes, check it out but if you don't see what you're after just call them.

3- :dunno

4- Check out a Conforti chip from www.turnermotorsport.com - also the EAT chips (http://www.dsylva-tech.ca/) have been popular as of late.

5- Dinan is known for reliability and standing behind their product, a definite plus. ESS is still a bit of an unknown to me...haven't seen any of their stuff. www.activeautowerke.com is famous for their work with the I6's, don't know if they work on the V8s, could call and ask?

6- AC Schnitzer. Check out pics at www.bavauto.com , but you can probably find it cheaper somewhere else. BavAuto is always high on price. Heard about a price-matching thing they'll do...but I'd rather do business with a place that isn't out to hose you from the start.

Check out www.bmwe34.net for more info on your new ride!

Hope this helps...
