I'm running Eibach 600-250-500 spring, which according to the those numbers should have a free length of 6''. I recently removed the springs from the car and they measured a little more than 5.5''. I also get the feeling the springs feel softer, I don't if its just me imagining thing or if infact they have turned soft. My qusution is do these need to be replaced periodically? Does the change of free length indicate wear?

its been about 3 years.

Just for future reference springs that suffer coil binding damage will shrink. They will retain there spring rate hower you will lose spring travel. Got this from the guys at GC.
