hey guys...had my first tire blowout last nite on the garden state parkway...had just pick the car up from the stealer ..was coming up the on ramp when some jerk decided not to let me merge...(you know what? i don't get that when the MPars are on..i think people think i'm some old geezer on the way to a bridge tournament when they see the basketweaves..) anywho..i punched her and held on till the horses cleared the stable..once she hit 100 they were all smelling fumes...then the steering wheel began to shake violently...as i stopped at the toll booth to pay..i lowered the window and was hit by the profuse smell of burning rubber and smoke.. ahhh damnn!! i limped over to the shoulder like a wounded soldier coming off the battlefield..

Wow - I can't remember the last time I had a blowout... When I first put on my Potenza S03's, they were so sticky that they were picking up every nail and screw on the road. This eventually led to a slow leak. But blowout? I've gotten so relaxed about it I now only carry a can of tire fixit and AAA card - and leave the spare at home... I'm knocking on wood right now...

My last blowout was 1979 and that was when I learned that putting a tube in a tire that had a side wall puncture - does not work.

As with FlyingHigh, I picked up a nail or two - but a Blowout is almost unheard of now-a-days.

A common man learns from his own mistakes.
A fool never learns.
