I have been living in London for 20 months now after being sent here for my company. The problem you will have is that the interiors of cars, as you may know if for right hand drive and not left hand drive. The popund is so high versus the dollar nowdays it is a mess. It has risen to 1.9 dollars to the pound.

Just got back from Europe, and you can get the VAT back at any airport in the EU before leaving. Some stipulations are you have to spend a certain amount at the one store, I think along the lines of 140 Euros...dunno about pounds.
