View Full Version : Gruppe A or KromerKraft Headers for 3.2 Euro?!? B.Watts 03-04-2004, 03:45 PM Does anyone know of a set of either of these headers that's readily available? :dunno Steve J. 03-04-2004, 04:58 PM Do you mean used, or just available for purchase? Or is it that you don't have time for KK to produce one for you? New setup for the new engine? :) ///M3Matt 03-04-2004, 06:19 PM Give Chuck a call, he might know. www.cssmotorsports.com B.Watts 03-04-2004, 07:29 PM Originally posted by 95m3racer Or is it that you don't have time for KK to produce one for you? New setup for the new engine? :) Don't have 8 weeks to wait. Looks like we'll just have to choke it down with the KK headers we have now and then retune it when we get some better headers down the road. Once we get some new headers, we'll have these KK's (designed for U.S. 3.2) for sale. I'll try Chuck and see if he has something in his shop. Steve J. 03-04-2004, 07:54 PM Nice, that thing should be plenty fast :) Do you know the difference between the US and Euro KK headers? Is it just the configuration, like is one 6-1 and one is 6-2-1, etc... B.Watts 03-04-2004, 09:49 PM Actually, the 3.2 U.S. Headers we have are 6-2-1. I believe the 6-1's are for the 2.5 and 2.8's only, but don't quote me on that. It may have something to do with tubing diameter and the inability to intertwine the larger diameter tubing for the 6-1 setup...you know how close the clearances are on your car. ;) I'm not sure what the setup of the Euro's are. The Euro's are larger tube diameter than what we currently have from what I understand. E368 03-04-2004, 10:01 PM What about the Euro Supersprint headers? They are smoother and flow more at the top-end compared to the stock Euro 3.2L headers. I'd guess they must be quite similar to the Grp A version, although I've never seen the Grp A in person. B.Watts 03-04-2004, 10:19 PM No thanks...Supersprints are a street header from a company that designs pretty generic performance headers for 100's of cars. Nothing special enough about them to be worth buying them only to replace them with something better in the near future. Also looking into having some headers designed and built by a local race shop that specializes in as much. Seth Thomas 03-05-2004, 12:29 AM Bryan, If you guys need a set of headers and can't find any you are more than welcome to try my Gruppe N headers off my LTW. I don't know what the difference is b/t them and a Gruppe A header but they might be better than nothing. Just let me know. B.Watts 03-05-2004, 12:34 AM Thanks Seth...we'll probably just stick the KK system we have now on there to get through the original dyno setup and engine break-in. It should work fine, but will probably choke off those last 10-15 hp or so until we find a better solution. I can't WAIT to drive this car with some real power. I suppose compared to one-off race headers or KKs they are "generic", but in the big picture of the automotive world Supersprint Euro M3 headers are hardly generic! Think Hedman... Can you please give me more information about the GrpA and GrpN headers for these motors. It should help me to understand why they would be so vastly superior to the Supersprint unit. Thanks :) Steve J. 03-05-2004, 01:53 AM I think what he's getting at is that they are made to be Street Headers. "grp" parts in general are made to be raced, as are KK's. KK header is designed to have no restrictions after it, meaning no cat no resonator, just a small muffler at the end to quiet it down a bit. Also, since a race engine is mostly in the higher rpm band, the header will also have a design implemented where it will sacrifice low end trq thats not needed, where as a Supersprint header might be more compromised. Header design and building is really an art and has LOTS of engineering behind it. If anyone wants to see what fabrication in its best form has, BUrns is the place to go, they simple do the best work anywhere! Might be too much... for your competition ;) You might nee a side exhuast to compete with Dado though haha ///M3Matt 03-05-2004, 10:06 AM HAHA...thats if Dado every gets his license. Hes done like 1 driving event. I dont think they will accept the Gumball Rally as track experience on his license application Steve J. 03-05-2004, 11:12 AM Hehe, true. I dont know, he has 550hp, they might grant him the license....I mean he did move into the advanced group after the first session ;) We'll see, ya never know. He is from europe (i think anyways), might have some true driver blood in him afterall. |
