What a town. Only in Vegas can you see a complete mishmosh of people from around the country in such a small concentration-from Texas cowboys to Jersey guidos to Midwest farmer types.

Fun place-the town never goes to sleep. Clubs are open to 5am. and always something going on.

Always remember the mantra "What goes on in Vegas, stays in Vegas". :D

Gotta love walking around at 3am in 90 degree heat and the sidewalks are as crowded as they are at 3pm... and it's real easy to find an extremely cheap, very good, meal in that town...

I wished it was that warm when I was there. It wasn't too bad during the day-like low 60s, but at night it was like 40s. Gotta love the desert.

Tried to get into Ghost Bar and Rain, but it was like a 2 hour wait at 12am and we were still on East Cost time when we tried. So we blew that off. It was a pain to go to the better clubs like those or V or Studio 54.

Yeah, it is a total blast. I want to go back again. Apparently Anna Kornikova was there the weekend we were there. We were hoping to go to Rain or Ghost Bar and one of us get married to her. :D

The one place I wanted to go was the Hard Rock Casino with the blackjack tables and cocktail service in the water! But it was closed. :(

I think our expectations weather wise were a little too high. Still managed to get in a round of golf though.

Vegas ROCKS!

oh and rgpie75, before you go down there, read this book called "Bringing Down the House". I was reading it on the way over there. Great book and true story about how these 6 MIT students fleeced Vegas. Really good read!!!!

I've actually read that book twice, it's great. I've never hung out at the pool at the Hard Rock, but that's probably my favorite casino in vegas. Awesome scene, bar right in the middle, not overrun with slots like all the other casinos, hot girls everywhere! The Palms is also a lot of fun.

I did really well the first night. 2 of my buddies passed out and my other friend and I stayed up til 3am, drunk as hell and racking up money at the blackjack table. Then it all kind of evened out as I got killed the next night and won a little bit the remaining nights.

Other things? You mean riding the roller coasters? Watching shows? Playing golf? :D

Man, now I want to watch "Swingers".

Haha, yeah that's a great movie. I was just asking if you got a chance to do anything besides gambling such as shopping or strolling the sidewalks. I was certainly not implying anything with my use of this smiley. :boink Or this one. :ky: And especilly not this one. :3some

How about what you get in Vegas? That goes with you...all the way to your gynecologist or ass-ologist!

Oh, the Vegas stories I could tell.... :D Let's just say I was taken there for my 21st B-day for 7 days of fun, and I won over $2K at the craps tables and came home with no money in my pocket... ;)

Wow Dave, you must've done a lot of "shopping" and "golfing" to blow all that! Because back in 1977 that was a lot of money. :D

Us old guys go there for wholesome fun, unlike you young whipper-snappers . . .
The UFC fight night is at Mandalay Bay 4/2. BTW, they have a new hotel there called "THE Hotel" (corny name, I know). I stayed there over New Year's - incredible place. Ultra modern/plush/neuvo. For example - 3 plasma TV's in each room, including the bathroom. Made for a very wholesome and enriching time.

Haha. I've also won a couple of grand and came home with nothing. Have to say it was worth it though. Olympic Gardens is the best!

hi guys,

i was just in Vegas also...feb 29 to mar 4.
to me it's like going to another planet.
always busy and the desert is so different
than the terrain in the East. the open blue skys are almost
like therapy after going through winter in PA.
i stayed at the Bellagio.
had the best dinner ever at Prime.
lost a little money but had a fantastic time.
have you guys seen the new TV commercial?
a guy is in his room asking for a wake up call.
he asks the operator if she can give him the wake
up call on his cell phone because he's not sure if
he's going to be in his room!
vegas....no place like it.:)
