I was thinking of putting my E38 rims that are now sitting in my garage on my E24:buttrock trike 02-25-2004, 08:37 PM not the nices nor cleanest wheels, nor the nicest car nor pictures of it! they are 16" enkei 5-spokes with kumho 225/55-16 rubbers http://csramotorsports.com/phpBB2/album_pic.php?pic_id=1372 http://csramotorsports.com/phpBB2/album_pic.php?pic_id=1374 car is for sale http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum//showthread.php?s=&threadid=181813 jhfutch 02-27-2004, 12:12 AM Here's a picture of my six with 16 in Momo 5-stars. I personally don't like them and will probably be selling them soon. I think 17s look better on these cars but that's another debate. http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/7/web/511000-511999/511751_23_full.jpg Prairieman 02-27-2004, 11:56 PM hmmmm... I have a picture of my sixer with E38 basketweave rims installed. All I have to do is find it... I bought the E38 wheels for the E32, but trial fit them to the sixer and took a picture for the heck of it. If I can find the picture I'll send it to you. My sixer is running 16" Hardy and Beck wheels. Brad 1979 633CSi 1981 745i 1988 M3 1992 735i jhfutch 02-28-2004, 01:36 AM H&B wheels, isn't that posing Just kidding, I wanna see them pics though. Prairieman 02-29-2004, 11:49 AM no offense taken - but what am I posing to be, by running Hardy & Beck wheels ? This car was serviced by Hardy & Beck when it was new. The original owner purchased several H&B accessories including wheels. I'm confused... :dunno I'll make every effort to find the E38 wheel pictures later today and post them tonight. here is a link to the H&B wheeled sixer. http://www.bigcoupe.com/sitw/pages/pageslmn/mehlinger.html (www.bigcoupe.com/sitw/pages/pageslmn/mehlinger.html) jhfutch 02-29-2004, 01:37 PM If it's got Hardy and Beck wheels and no Hardy and Beck turbo it's like puting alpina rims on a non-alpina car. I didn't know they made other accessories as well, makes it just that much more rare. That's a good looking car, that interior is just beautiful have you redyded it? My six has/had the cardinal red interior, but the underdash trim is black. I'm in the process of changing the cardinal red to black. And oh yeah you have a dogleg too, what differential ratio does yours have? 3.07? Prairieman 02-29-2004, 01:59 PM OK, I get it. I don't think the car is rare, just a California six series with some H&B pieces. Back in the day, I'll bet if all you wanted was a set of wheels, H&B would accomodate a customer with cash who couldn't afford or desired a turbo. the interior picture is deceiving. While the interior is in very good condition, the image makes it look as though it's screaming red on fire, and it's not. Must have been a bright day when I took the picture. Mine still has a 3.45 ratio diff. I am looking for a 3.07, but am unwilling to break my wallet to get one. I am confident a 3.07 diff at the right price willl find me eventually... Did you attend Southeast Sharkfest last year ? There were several cars from Georgia. jhfutch 02-29-2004, 02:18 PM I wasn't able to attend, I actually picked up my car March 27, the thursday before SESF, and I wasn't about to drive 400 miles in a car I had just bought, it still had too many kinks to work out. I'm still not sure If I'll be able to attend this year or not, I know I won't have time/money to put all of the mods I have sitting in my storage unit on the car by that time. The Stebro exhaust and recovered seat are the most possible. Actually here's an interesting side note, I've been driving BMW's for about eight years now (E23s and E28s) four days after buying the six someone offered to buy it, that never happened with my other cars. Prairieman 02-29-2004, 03:52 PM no, no, no... don't let un-installed aftermarket parts keep you from attending that terrific event. if the car will make the short trip from Valdosta to Scottsboro Alabama (and back) - make plans to attend. go to the Roadfly.org message board. last year, a bunch of Georgia E24's hooked up and made a caravan to the event. heck, man - there were over 40 Sixers in one place ! :redspot and the roads around Scottsboro can only be described as "an asphalt rollercoaster" ! :D too much fun... www.bmwsharkfest.org jhfutch 02-29-2004, 05:07 PM I saw the pics and have meet alot of the guys from Fl that went (Kai, SirGary, JT, Slak54) and a few from ATL. The FL guys actually met up here in Valdosta, I was still sound asleep from my trip back with my car, I didn't get in until 4 am that morning and still went to work at 8. It's not the parts that are keeping me from attending, it's time money and uncertainty. I was laid off three weeks ago and don't know when, where and if I'l have a job by then. If things go as planned I'll actually be moving closer to Scotsboro. Sorry for hijacking this thread. axxessdenied 03-05-2004, 02:05 PM These are the rims going on my E9. No rubber yet ( got plenty of time before the body work is finished anyway :D ) http://www.e9saga.com/temp/rim-testlook.jpg Makr 03-05-2004, 06:11 PM Is that rust above the jackstand? Nice wheels. What size are they? axxessdenied 03-06-2004, 03:37 AM 8x16 Yes, that is rust. The car is being restored right now. The picture was taken around the time we started. That's just the rocker panel cover though. Most of the drivers side rocker panels has been patched up already. T-Rex 03-17-2004, 03:35 AM http://www.dtmpower.net/ppost2/data/500/7652img_0711small.jpg theres ours riding on E39 16s. I think they look great. Car is also for sale right now. jcsomerset 03-22-2004, 01:44 PM I"ve got 16"s on my car - too lazy to post big pic - Go to my cardomain sie form my profile and check them out though - here is small pic - GO TO SHARKFEST!!!
