Kind of an unusual question, but what are your guys favorite roads around Atlanta (and hopefully in Buckhead)?

I particularly like Chatham Rd (connects Habersham and W Paces Ferry), and Habersham between W Paces Ferry and W Wesley.

Anyone know good curves around here?

Coursey Lake Rd out here in DoCo. Short but sweet.

South Fulton Pkwy for high-speed runs.

Wooten Lake Rd in Kennesaw only for taking the "dip" at 70 or 80.

SR166 here in DoCo if you can manage not to get stuck behind slow traffic. :complain

Mtn. Calvary Rd. in Marietta running between SR120 and Burnt Hickory.

That's what I got from the top o' my noggin this morning. Should anyone need maps/directions, let me know. :)

Riverside Road -- I run it really early on Saturday mornings from 285 to Roswell Road. You'll cross Johnson Ferry and it will take you Bimmerstore on Roswell, ironically.

There are several blind curves so take it easy the first few times...

Also Northpoint Pkwy at night and there aren't any cops around...

Negatory good buddy on that Northpoint Pkwy.

Those black Alpharetta cops are sneaky....very sneaky.

We under estimate their sneakiness sir

This is true. I have gotten in a few good runs early in the morning. Be careful on the last decending part of NP pkwy (heading north to Windward). If you take it too fast, you'll bottom out with all the uneven pavement.

They are sneaky, are't they......:suave

Lakewood Fwy seems pretty good for some high speed fun. Not much for twisties though.

I've only driven it once, so I don't know the normal 5-0 situation.

I stick to my playground in the north Georgia mountains. Its nice being only 45min away.

Old Roswell Rd is fun, and I drive it to work every morning. From Roswell(At 120) all the way to where it turns into Delk/Terrell Mill Rd over by Powers Ferry. There are some nice twisty corners near the river, Run it early(or weekend morning) as to avoid the slowpokers. The turn by the bridge at the bottom is cool, post your MPH in it.. :D

I like Riverside drive, but as far as curvy roads, the best drive I have been on was at the SEMAG last year. We went on The Tail of the Dragon, in North Carolina.

Yeah, I think we talked about this once. Do you have any feedback on it since you've done it? i.e. Cops, Locals throwing sand & gravel, traffic...

I think you're a little mistaken. The SEMAG drive last year went from Spartanburg to Chimney Rock, we never made it over to TN.

Yeah ATL3 your right, my bad. Yeah it was Chimney Rock, but last year I did go on the Tail Of The Dragon, but I guess not at the SEMAG. Both of these, I went with my E32 735I

rwindleyme02 - yeah you have to be real careful on those roads. There are a lot of blind spots, very sharp turns. the speed limit is about 30-35. The cops are strict over there. Overall, it was a fun experience.

I've heard about one highway in Idaho of all places that has 77 miles of curves...now that would be fun :)

Thanks for your suggestions guys, I'm gonna try some of these roads out this weekend.

I drive the Paper Mill section every day on my way home from work.

Little out of our area, but has anyone been to the Linn Cove viaduct in NC? A friend was telling me about it saying it was really fun, and I was considering taking a trip up there one weekend.

From what I've heard it's a raised road on a mountain (they didn't tear into the mountain to make it) and the turns are all at 10-15 degrees or so, which makes for fun driving apparently. :D

If you get up to Athens, ask me and I'll tell you some good places to run. :D
