Here's a small test - Does everybody know what a Certified Pre-Owned BMW means?
It means the car is checked over mechanically and anything not right is fixed. Then they give you an extended warranty, not a full warranty, a CPO warranty. A car that has been a "moderate" to "severe" accident can still be a CPO BMW.
Unfortunately, I've learned this the hard way. The CPO 1998 M3 I bought from a Bert Smith in St. Pete Florida came up on CarFax with the accident listed. The potential buyer for my M3 (already made me an offer) pulled a carfax and is now running away.
Too bad, this is a sweet car that scores and easy 85%. 1998 M3 Coupe, 66,000k miles with CPO warranty untill 6/30/04. $18,000
