View Full Version : Ga. Tech Auto Show varsity 02-23-2004, 09:53 AM http://www.me.gatech.edu/autoshow/index.htm Haven't heard any of y'all on the board here talk about it. Anyone planning on going? Sparc_it 02-23-2004, 01:25 PM I am not a student.....so does that mean I can't get in? varsity 02-23-2004, 01:28 PM no, that means that you can't show your car. You have to be a GT student to show your car, but anyone can attend. I know there are some tech kids on this board... Sparc_it 02-23-2004, 01:46 PM "Non-alcoholic tailgating is encouraged" What I get from this is alcoholic tailgating is not encouraged...but it is still allowed :devillook bcart1991 02-23-2004, 02:54 PM Originally posted by Sparc_it I am not a student.....so does that mean I can't get in? It means that you suck.;) I may check this out. My bro-in-law is still at GT, but his wrecked-six-times-in-the-three-years-I've-known-him Isuzu Rodeo won't be in the show. His parents get it fixed every time.:dunno Some o' them rich kids at Tech gots some sweet rides... Carter zivilyn861 02-23-2004, 03:44 PM Hmm I had no idea we had one of these things. I'll definitely be there... don't think I'll have a car to show, though. I'll also be at the Atlanta auto show in mid-March, so let me know if you wanna meet up or something. Sparc_it 02-23-2004, 04:42 PM Ali...you gonna enter your car? aMiR M3 02-23-2004, 05:27 PM yea ali..you gonna enter your car? Yeah I might enter my car, depends on if I feel like preparing my car for a show on that day or not. Sparc_it 02-23-2004, 07:51 PM Originally posted by Ali Do you go to Tech? What do you drive? Bronn 02-23-2004, 09:29 PM This sounds like it could be a lot of fun. I'll try and go. Ali 02-23-2004, 10:48 PM i just zanoied her over the weekend, but it looks like its raining tomorrow, bummer :( Kyle K. 02-23-2004, 11:08 PM I'll be there, one of my fraternity brothers will more than likely be showing his mustang (which is pretty sweet). Ali, you should definately show your m3. Aaron should enter his too. Amir, let me borrow your car for the day and I'll enter it. :D Oh and, from the FAQ: "Q: Will alcohol be allowed as part of the tailgating? A: Unfortunately, adult beverages will not be allowed on campus as a part of this year's event." "adult beverages" :biglaughb :biglaughb fortysix 02-23-2004, 11:24 PM (haven't read the link) Does it cost anything to go? Kyle K. 02-23-2004, 11:32 PM Nope. zivilyn861 02-24-2004, 12:05 AM Originally posted by Ali Do you go to Tech? What do you drive? Just did the audio thing for a while and now all but my gauges are back to stock for my move to VA. :/ I'll be out there for sure, though, to take a look at some of the cars... actually, I saw yours on campus a while back before I was on this board and was able to place it when I saw your sig here. Ali 02-24-2004, 12:27 AM was it before the bodykit? I've got my stock hood back on now. You can check it out sometime on campus if you want as i'm there alot of the time. And if you buy an m3 and need help modifying it let me know, maybe we'll have a spot open for you on the Georgia Chapter of Eurowerkz :D zivilyn861 02-24-2004, 01:38 AM Originally posted by Ali was it before the bodykit? I only caught a glimpse of it as I was walking to class once. I'd love to check it out sometime. I actually haven't been able to check out an e36, just the e46s. I've been looking around casually for any e36s in the area that come up for sale, but I can't decide if I want to do that or wait a bit for an e46. The main reason I was looking at the e36 was the fact that I could probably mod it heavily. I've been saving for a while (no sense in modding a civic, imho) to do just that should I find the right m3. :) Kyle K. 02-24-2004, 03:44 AM What year are you zivilyn? I'm a first year at Tech, and if you've ever seen the black Cooper around compus thats me. zivilyn861 02-24-2004, 09:21 AM Originally posted by Kyle K. What year are you zivilyn? I've heard good things about the Coopers, how do you like it? Btw guys, feel free to just call me Chris. :) -Chris adeelpowers 02-25-2004, 11:51 AM hey guys, new to the site. Im helping with the auto show... whats coming here (hopefully) carrerra gt 911 gt2 911 gt3 concept cars classics enzo! (maybe) Ron17 02-25-2004, 12:01 PM Originally posted by Kyle K. I may go check it out though. The "Beater" category sounds fun. :) Kyle K. 02-25-2004, 12:48 PM "Only cars and motorcycles owned by those directly affiliated with Georgia Tech will be eligible for judging and prizes. Those interested in participating who are not a Georgia Tech student, faculty, staff, or alumnus will be able to register by invitation only." Reading comprehension is clearly not emphasized enough here at Tech. I'm glad that I came in with a solid foundation in it. :D Leif E. It's a little lacking in the power department but I can throw it around in the twisties like crazy. rwindleyme02 02-25-2004, 01:10 PM Originally posted by Kyle K. Therefore my blunder was b/c of ignorance, not lack of reading comprehension ;) zivilyn861 02-25-2004, 04:14 PM Originally posted by Kyle K. Lucky you. Got a job lined up? And yeah, I love my car. I've heard good things, I might even go out for a test drive at some point. Yeah, I have two good job offers up there (VA) with a few more in the works, so I think I'm all set. I'm so glad to get out of here!! Days like today make me hate this school... Leif E. Bronn 02-25-2004, 05:09 PM Originally posted by zivilyn861 Glad to hear about the mini.
