View Full Version : what happens if the belt breaks on my sc? b22md 02-19-2004, 12:49 AM i have an AA sc and was wondering what would happen if the belt broke? would i just "go back to stock" until i got put a new belt on or would the car be undrivable? i figure it is the latter but would just like to know. hamann1000 02-19-2004, 12:54 AM The car would still be driveable but it wouldnt be a good idea to drive it. The AA software in your car is programed to run a certain air/fuel ratio. If your sc'er doesnt work the air ratio will be different and you might end up running rich. I think I'd keep a spare belt and the right tools to change it in the trunk. b22md 02-19-2004, 01:13 AM Originally posted by Croak Actually, with an AA unit, that same belt turns the water pump, power steering, and alt. There's always a concern that the SC will sieze up, but then again, the same thing could happen to the alt, water pump, or power steering pump, with or without the supercharger. So, in other words, no it isn't drivable. |
