For some reason, the first two gears don't feel nearly as strong as 3rd or 4th. Sure you can spin your tires in first but it doesn't feel that quick down low. Maybe it's just me.

I know what you mean...even though it's SCed the first two gears feel slow. Then 3rd gear comes around and it feels much better.

How's your clutch, how's your belt? If either are going to slip, they're more prone to do so in the lower gears.

Clutch still grabs hard, hard enough to chirp the tires. No slippage. Belt is new, no slippage or else you will hear it. I think it's just something about the first 2 gears.

If you want power at launch with a centrifugal s/c, you gotta bring the revs up. From there, unless you want the tires to go up in smoke, you gotta let the clutch out slowly (ride it a bit) for a nice take off...

My 1st and 2nd gear feel pretty good. There's enough power that it can get pretty difficult to control.

I'm pretty sure my clutch is slipping now.

It's really hard to tell sometimes because I get so much tire spin now during the winter in 1st and 2nd.
