I'm going to Road Atlanta this weekend for a driving school and want to get a tech inspection done before I go out on the track. I kinda want to take it to Global for this, but I know if I come back (under warranty) and complain about brakes or whatever, they're gonna laugh.

Where do you all recommend for getting a tech inspection done? :dunno

I always have Bavarian Imports on Howell Mill Rd in midtown ATL do my inspections. Mike and Robbie are great guys and will treat you right. They also know their way around these cars, so the tech insp. by someone very knowledgable is worth any small price they might charge you since there is a good chance they'll/you'll see stuff down there while the car is on a lift that you hadn't noticed before.

You can try Harrison Motorsports (www.harrisonmotorsports.com). They've teched my car before and I think (can't remember for sure) the charge was minimal... ~$25.00 or so. Good luck an be safe at the track.

I second Harrison. i had my tech inspection done there for the last BMWCCA Road ATlanta event. Since I had him flush my brake fluid with ATE Super Blue, he didn't charge for the "Tech".

Please no flames here, but I've personally been screwed by these guys twice and can recall 3 friends that have had a MUCH worse experience than I. These guys are crooks and I wouldn't trust them to pick up my dogs crap off of a lawn.

Harrison charged my friend almost $100 for a frikin Power steering flush.. while he told him it was only going to be 30 minute labor at most...
Additionally, I bought some brake fluid and redline stuff and he charged me much more than he charges on his website.. what gives??

Thanks for all of the responses everyone. I called Harrison Motorsports and spoke with David about the tech inspection, and it looks like I'm going to be getting it done there. He seems very professional and knows what he's doing. Now to get the new tires put on, build the camera mount and change the engine, transmission and differential fluids all before Friday night. Whew!
