Charlotte, NC – Excellent Shop / Garage – Uptown Imports

I have a handful of mods going in right now, and most are beyond my patience, tool ownage, and time requirements, so I farmed them out to this shop, that was recommended to me by buckwillyhere. Let me tell you, these guys are enthusiasts, and appreciate a fine BMW to tune. They go well above and beyond the typical shop. I’m not getting into town until late Friday night, so they are keeping my MC locked inside the shop, and one of the owners (Paul) is driving in to the shop Sat morn to let me pick up my MC even though they are typically closed. I just called to get an update on how the work is going, and they are already ~90% completed, and I just dropped it of yesterday morning. A very cool owner / tech (Duncan) expressed compliments on the parts I brought in (UUC / understeer.com / H&R), and took the time to explain everything he had done (including a good idea on replacing the thermo housing with an aluminum one), and some ideas on mounting my exhaust. I’ll update as necessary! :boobies

Nice mod list, I'm very curious about the FDK and the FW, you'll have to take me for a ride.

2/22 I'm actually going up to Winston Salem to change RTAB's with bdub. Oh he's also bolting GC coilovers on. Saturday (2/21) maybe some of us Charlotte guys should get together for some wings and beer for lunch. :dunno

Wow....great to hear they worked out for you. I just rec. my koni inserts and GC RSMs, X-Brace arrived today to install. I had just went to uptown imports for my idler pulley. I think I am ready for a dyno run while the M is still near stock.

I am game. Just wish I could get my susp. installed before then.

Yeah theyre running both the 14th and 15th. I'm good friends with some of the guys over there and they told me that sat. is pretty much booked up for dyno pulls but there are gonna be some powerful cars pulling runs. My car is awd so ill just be spectating anyway.

buckwilly,

is your M3 black with magma (i think that is the color name, dark tan) interior?

I saw one sitting in the Carmax Independence Blvd. parking lot the other day.

Just curious....
