View Full Version : Sunshine 7 Revhigh CAI...Success!
Shawnee 02-08-2004, 12:41 PM It was a great day to get together and it was good to see everyone: Eric, Jay, Leighton, Roy and Whit…very cool camaraderie
We had a great time yesterday, and at the end of the day we drove away with our newly installed RevHigh CAI’s. Eric and his lovely wife hosted our event at their Boca compound, they not only provided the locale, they fed us and we experienced Eric’s barbequed chicken. E & E *Thanks*
It was a slow start that finished in a flurry as each install became easier to accomplish.
I was the benefactor of everyone’s technical know how, expertise and mechanical ability and I owe a very special thanks to Roy, who not only disassembled my headlights and upgraded the glass, but also provided chromeline inserts. I rolled outta’ there with a facelift. * SWEET * RoyCya you’re the man Bro!
Wow, am I lucky to be a part of this special e38 brotherhood.
Bimmerhead 02-08-2004, 01:04 PM Werd!

Roy Cya 02-08-2004, 10:23 PM A fun time was had indeed! Sean, it was a pleasure to help a brother out!!! I'm sure you'll understand when you catch yourself staring at her and thinking, damn, that does look good!! Our next project will be OEM Xenon's and Rev's DME re-program...
Props do go the the 2-E's for being the gracious hosts they can be. Wouldn't be the same without them. :buttrock

Sean,
Sounds like the guys got you fixed up!!! I told you once the guys got there they'd have it done crazy fast.
Finished the HID Upgrade (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=175973) tonight. Seemed to go well although it was slow at times.
I have the brand new valve cover widget (I only found one) if you want me to mail it to you. Shoot me an email with your address if you want me to send it.
Lemmie know, bro.

Got it Sean.
Hey -- is the one enough? Were you only missing just one?
I'll shoot it out to ya tomorrow. :)
Shawnee 02-09-2004, 02:45 PM Jay, tis' just the one...thanks again
ericw 02-09-2004, 05:54 PM It was an awesome day. Big learning curve on the install. I'd suggest to anyone attempting the install to bag the instructions. You don't need to lift the car, you don't need to open the wheel well. Just take off the front bumper and the factory snorkle comes off with 2 10mm bolts. For two guys the job can be accomplished in 20 minutes. However Whit Baker came up with a special technique to "fine tune" the CAI. Below is a photo of Whit demonstrating the Baker method of fine tuning the CAI.
jayadam63 02-09-2004, 05:59 PM That must have happened after we left.
Leave it to Whit --
BTW -- What's he trying to do? He'll blow his ear drums out!
Roy Cya 02-09-2004, 06:09 PM Actually, he was reminiscing about the 60s and 70s. That was his BONG!!!!!!! :biglaughb

Yup -- looks like his left thumb might be the right place. Good form!
That picture is great!
RevHigh 02-10-2004, 03:24 PM LOL
Thanks guys.

Hey Eric, Having done this install on my 95, I can say that your experience may be true for your year car, but not for my 95... The wheel well removal was a necessity, but we didn't have to drop the bumper. I think there are differences between years from what I have seen and read about different install experiences.
BTW, great pic! :D
ericw 02-10-2004, 05:44 PM Thanx Jack. We did this on Roy's and Sean's cars. I think they are 97's or 98's. Just removing the bumper worked.
