I don't know what it was really... I just know it was a really old chevy. I had been stuck behind the guy for a long time on this one lane road... which I really didn't mind cause I had one hand holding onto a cake in the passenger seat and I was just mosing on in 5th.
So the road finally splits and I see a red light up ahead... so I begin to ease off hoping it'll change and I won't have to change gears. The guy in the Chevy rolls up to the light and stops... I'm coastingg, hoping for hte light to change. I'm just about to shift into 2nd when the light goes green.
I ease out of the clutch in 5th... which put me at about idle in 5th. The guy in the Chevy starts pushing hard. :p So I'm like what the hell... it'll be interesting. Him using all 4 or 5 gears and me stuck in 5th. I mash 5th... the car makes a whole lot of noise as the car starts to grumble forward.:rolleyes:
Initially, the guy in the Chevy has me by like a car length... after all, he was in 1st gear. He's reving the crap out of his little car. He changes to 2nd followed by a puff of black smoke. I start pulling on him. I have this big grin on my face cause I know that I'm pulling on this Chevy... even tho he's in 2nd and I'm in 5th. As I pull even with him, he changes to 3rd. I look over smile and the car is coming into the power band now and pulling through 5th quickly. :D
I had a big smile on my face knowing that my car... from idle in 5th can out accelerate a Chevy something with all 5 gears to say 60 or something.:cool:
