View Full Version : Acura's night out...

well, I had 3/4 o' tank and I was bored. So I went for a drive. First stop, to my friend steves house to check out his new AR-15 (friggen cool!!!). Then as I'm leaving his driveway. Some morons almost hit me in their acura. So I go around the loop the other way and pass by them on the adjacent road as they're sitting at the stop sign.

We pull up to one light. The guy revs his engine and what not, I just let mine idle. He takes off, he thinks he's one for a second, then I punch it and proceed to walk him. Next stop light, the same happens but even worse than before since I didn't give him the benefit of the jump. :evil2

I then take the onramp to get on the highway and they try to follow persuit...tried.

So as I'm getting onto another junction, I see yet another Acura. But this one is a bit more formidable. It looks like a newer RSX. It's probobly one of the older ones, probobly the first year model of the RSX. Had a muffler but nothing else that I could see.

I pull even with him at 70. and my car is in 4th gear at around 3,800 RPMS - 4,000 RPMS. He know's what's up and immediately punches it. So did I...:evil2

I proceeded to walk him so badly I started to giggle profusely. I couldn't believe it. I slowed down to give him another go, but he just turned off...quickly

I don't know if he didn't understand the concept of downshifting or not. But I spanked him HARD. I want to say by at least 3 car lengths, and that's a modest guess.

My car is a completely stock 325i...for now.

what type of acura was the first one? Maybe the RSX was auto? or maybe he couldn't drive, i think an RSX-S may have a slight power edge and weight advantage, but the regular one is less powerful definately. Plus you got to start out at a good engine speed, not to take anything away, nice kill.

Must be base model RSX with auto tranny. Type S will kill you so bad.

Second that. You need a E36 M3 to beat a type-S

You're leaving the driveway? Going onto the road that he's already on? And HE'S the moron? :laugh Riiiiight. That "moron" had the right of way, not you.

mitchelrl

not when he's easily doing twice the speed limit

SilverStreak
02-06-2004, 01:03 PM
actually, if he's on the road and you're not, no matter his rate of speed, he has the right of way... he'd get a ticket for speeding if they could prove it, if you guys collided, but it would likely be your insurance that would pay for all the damage, or maybe if you're lucky you'd only have to pay for your own damage, and him for his, etc....

surfacewound
02-06-2004, 01:32 PM
Funny, I didn't know your rate of speed could invalidate the right of way.

Sure he was a dick for going so fast, but the fact remains that he still had the right of way.

say for example you were backing up your car from the driveway and at the same time playing your radio loud enough not to hear a car from say 50 ft. you look left, right, then left again then you proceed knowing there aren't any car around. then suddenly, wham somebody hit your car with another car doing 100mph. now whos fault is this gonna be?

p.s. this is a true story

When leaving a private lot or driveway, going onto a public street or roadway, the vehicle that was on the public street will ALWAYS have the right of way, regardless of conditions.

The guy that was doing 100mph will be cited for criminal speeding, reckless endangerment, and reckless driving, but the person that left the driveway will be cited also for failure to yield.

Sorry, no RSX in the early 90s. It had to be an RSX base model...RSX-S's would destroy a 325.

E24- Some people on the RSX forum are running low 14's with just an intake and exhaust. They've got good potential, as some with bolt on's are into the 13's

That could mean two different Integras then. It was either a 2nd gen Integra (90-93) or a 3rd gen Integra (94-01).

Either way, it must have been an Integra LS 130hp.

2nd Gen GSRs are VERY rare and 3rd Gen GSRs should give you a better run for your money than the way you described.

Either way, nice kill.

PS....am I the only one who likes to read Kill stories when all the information is known about both cars involved??? Who the hell knows what the other guy is doing or thinking. Hell, I have tried to race people I didn't know witout even flooring my car. :dunno Oh well, whatever makes you happy...I guess.:dunno

Yes, it is a 2.0L with 200hp. That is IMPRESSIVE....and yes....low 14's and high 13's are not too much to ask out of an RSX.

You know what's funny. There was this 17 year old kid who recently got his RSX-S. He wanted to run it at the strip. His FIRST time out he ran a 15 flat. Now that is impressive!!

What I dont understand is why everyone that drives a Honda or Acura is considered Rice by people in these forums, especially when many RICE Honda's and Acura's easily beat precious BMW's. I own a 330xi auto, and also a 98 Prelude SH and the Prelude is faster, and probably handles better with the atts system. As for the RSX, with E/I/H bolt on mods they are easily as fastas a stick 330i or Ci, as the GSR's aren't too far behind, they would take a stock 325i all day long. Not to mention there are plenty of all motor Civic Hatch's out there w/ H22's and K20A engines that run low 13's all day long. I love BMW's, but you have to respect Honda's for what they are as many of them are in fact faster, and handle almost as well as many of the 3 and 5 series BMW's, excluding the 545 and 330i PP obviously.

as a previous integra type R owner. i still think that integras still suck. i could care less what you put on that integra. it's still slow. plus it dont even handle close to a 3 series.

Nicely put. Now consider this: a M3 with a M5 swap vs your civic hatch with h22 swap example. You compare acura's top of the line sports car (not including the nsx) vs some of bmw's non of the top of the line sports cars. Compare any rsx vs a M3, stock for stock. Add bolt ons to the acura, sure slight advantage, add some bolt ons to the M3, same results as in the begining. Not trying to be mean but I really do despise it when people dont compare equally.... If your gonna compare a modded _______ vs a ______ then let them both be modded. Thats like saying my bmw with turbo/nos/slicks will take a farrarri. :rolleyes lame...end rant.

Haha, comparing a Civic with an H22 to an M3 with an M5 engine swap?

First off, the M3 wouldn't even need an M5 engine swap to beat an H22 powered Civic, unless there are other mods.

Second, The Civic+H22 combined probably cost less than just the M3 engine by itself.

Third, comparing any Civic with any swap to an E46 M3 is wrong in so many ways :D
