Guys, I don't know if anybody remembers my "run" with the Gemballa a while ago, I think it was summer of 2003. Anyway, coming back from Owings Mills, I saw him again!!!!!!!!!!! I seriously almost crapped my pants. I just installed my crank pulley not too long ago and I was anxious for another shot at him(which would probably be worthless, but oh well).

I dropped her into 3rd gear about 60mph and mashed the throttle to catch him in the slow lane cruising. At first, he didn't recognize me, but then he started laughing hysterically. I was laughing too but not as loud and obnoxiously. I was still in 3rd gear and this time I planned on just nailing it and I know he would play with it. I was going a little faster than 65mph, but not 70mph. I quickly floored the car with everything it had...slammed into 4th and without realizing anything, he woooooossshhes by me like NOTHING, just like the first time. I mean the way he flew by me, you would think I let off or something happend. NOPE. I was FULLY into the throttle with EVERYTHING I had. It really frustrates a person when you spend money modding, then realize how sick some cars are on the road. I take it up to 130mph and he was gonnnnnnnnnnnne. I saw him way up there get on his brakes for me to catch up. I did and he gave me a wave and thumbs up.

I got behind him and cruised until he had to take his exit, he waved his hand out the window and I flashed my beams at him. Nice guy and a sick car. I just had to post this, I haven't even taken my shoes or coat off yet, I just had to post.:D

I really need to get a camerca mount in my car. I see this guy toooooo many times to let go any more opportunities. Especially since this guy is awesome and willing to play...

For the guy who asked if he downshifted, I don't know. He was maybe 2 cars back before I realized he wasn't even on it. Next thing I know, he ZOOOOOMS past me like I was going backwards.

Not that I have a Gemballa 996, but I would guess from your story that it was 4th gear that he used...

When I raced the new S4 recently in hi boost, I let him take off ahead of me, then I hit it in 4th gear. Within 4 seconds I was maybe going 20mph faster than him, with speeds climbing. I blasted past him, so fast, I was almost concerned that he might spin or lose control!!! With moments I had over 12 car lenths or so... (hard to tell when the you approach triple digits at that rate)

I could have hit 3rd, but with turbo torque, and the nature of the 3.6L flat engines, you don't need to...

Your car is absolutly sick greg. Was it a factory turbo or did you add the turbo to the 3.6

Carreras don't come with turbos. I believe Promotive did his work...it's my background image on my computer at work:D

But you are very correct. She actually lived her first 9 years as a normal Carrera 4. Then, she underwent a transformation...:evil2

The 3.6 block of the Carrera is the same as in the Turbo, and even later generations as well I believe. It was pretty much bullet proof...

I beleive i've seen this "Gembella" you speak of. It's not real if it's the one i've seen before. It was down at Tyson's 2 one night sitting in the parking deck and a few guys gave me the whole scoop on it.

Guy had an M3 on order but ended up cancelling it and buying the fake gembella for like 5 g's less.

I was rolling with a new Black Porshe turbo back in the fall around 695, he humored me for a few miles, let me check out the car, then took off.

I can tell you for a fact this guy probably works/lives in the Owings Mills/Reisterstown area. I've seen him take the exit one morning and the other two times going home around 5:00 p.m. Unless this guy has nothing else better to do but drive all the way to Tyson's Corner, I doubt this is the same car. Like I said, I'm very good at telling if a car's a fake or not and I can assure you this one is the REAL deal.

This isn't a younger guy either. He looks to be in his 30s and every time I see him he's wearing a tie.

Yes I have the same ability... To see through engine compartments and tell that the motor has special pistons, head work, lower compression and of course more boost...:awink:

How can you tell this is the real deal? It's very easy to pick up a gemballa body kit (though expensive).

Tell him to pop the rear and take a look at the intercooler...if it is a true Gemballa car, then it will have a Gemballa Top Mount Intercooler...although anyone can get that as well...however, it would be a waste to be running stock boost, turbos, etc. with that intercooler. Plus...none of Gemballa's stuff is Cheap...although...their tuning isnt that great from what I understand.

I believe it is a Gemballa 750. What kind of rich ass guy would go as far to make a imitation Porsche, plus the way he describes the car taking off...I don't think any other car could do that, AND he says the car looks just like the 1 in the picture, give him the benefit of the doubt

I live in Owings Mills and constantly travel in Riesterstown, Owings Mills New Town/795 area. I've never seen this guy, what exit is he getting on and off of? Also, does he have a vanity plate or any stickers?

He gets off every damn time at exit 20, Reisterstown exit.

I've seen him twice taking that exit, and the last time I saw him I drove along with him from exit 25 all the way to the 95 split from 695. When I got raped yet again...

Like I said, I'm willing to bet my car this is the real deal 750. Just like the flame pic, except his was dark blue.

Now I'm not saying my car can keep with cars like that, but there's NO WAY this wasn't a 750. I mean seriously, this car's acceleration was out of this world. I can see why they say this car traps 130.

Oh so this is off of 695? And in the evening he is heading away from Reisterstown or toward it? I am guessing he is entering Reisterstown at night since you said you think he lives there...

Even a car making 550HP will eat you up like that. Turbo cars have that huge torque advantage which makes them pull from you like that.
It's all guess work till you see his receipts...:dunno
