I've been debating about an M3 for awhile now ... with the added blowers coming out, AA and Evosport as far as I know ...(no pricing for either as of this point) ... what do current E46 M3 owners think?

Do you think it is viable? AA is using stock hg, 11.5:1 static cr (I wonder what the dynamic cr becomes with the blower at 5.5 psi??). This is good for 100 hp.

The Evosport, from what little details I can glean ... requires engine work = more money. I believe they change out the pistons at least and lower the CR on the engine. Not sure what else is done ... but, I know at least one of their stages is going to be putting down around 475 rwhp (Brad -- correct me if I'm wrong) ... however, I'm sure the price tag should be rather STEEP. If it can be done for under $15K installed, then it would be a good deal; but, from the sound of things, I am thinking parts alone would cost $15K plus another $5-7K of installation. Now, add this on to the price of the car, I'm looking at spending $60K+ ... which in my mind, means I should be getting a 2002+ M5 ...

What do you guys think? Stay NA and go with M5 or get blown with E46 M3 ... if the price is relatively reasonable. I do not feel like shelling out $30K+ again to get boosted ...

Can these engines handle boost in the long run? The S50 and S52 have been proven to hold boost, ala my car and many others. I would just like the newer body style.

Alternatively, does anyone think the 432is will reach the U.S.? This is the 3.2L turbo-charged version that is rumored to be around 325 hp? IF it is turbo-charged, makes it THAT much easier to increase boost ...

I guess my question to current E46 M3 owners .. if you are considering getting blown, why? Is the 333 hp NOT enough for you? How much do you think is enough for that car, or would make you happy? Would 400 hp be enough? Would 400 rwhp be enough?

I am not trying to be the fastest thing on the road ... just faster than 90% of the cars out there, heheh ... I'm pushing 400+ rwhp right now ... However, I'm kind of tired of power. I would like a more comfortable ride, more creature features, etc ... I know, I guess I am not a true enthusiast anymore ... lol

Well a FI m3 will destry a stock 2002+M5.
I think that substantial gains can be achieved on the S54 with changing internals and adding a blower. Brad's estimate sounds right!
Staying NA with the E46 M3 is not a route for me. For the M3 to reach at LEAST 340 rwhp means spending around 8K in addition to what i have now. Thats absurd when compared to a 9K SC kit putting 360rwhp on a STOCK car.
---------------
450 rwhp would ultimately make me happy. The characteristics of the car would allow me to run with 500RWHP cars. Stock to stock, the M has always been able to hold its own even when out powered.

If you are tired of power, then i suggest you get a 5 or 7 series. The M is a born race car and desires to see 8,000 rpm consistenly - not a smooth ride if you ask me.

I say just slap a T88 ball-bearing turbo and some bigger injectors! Everyone get out da way!

Your going to need a little more then the exhaust from that measly 3.2L to spool that turbo. Better compliment it with a 150shot.

If I see enough examples of the M3 endure a charger without blowing up than Ill work extra hard next year to attain one.

I got a little more than just exhaust (Just bought the Gizmo! haha)

You would need much more nitrous to help your measly 2.5L huh.
