Well, I'd been sitting in front of my computer trying to catch up on my work load when I had a desire for a beer. Low and behold, when I went to the frig there wasn't a single bottle to be found. So, I jumped in the PY and headed for Super Wally World to stock my frig. I haven't been in the car since Saturday because of the rain, so I decided to take the long way and get in some driving. There is a long downhill on-ramp going to I-459 that I love to run and this time was no different. I was forced to slow as I was entering the highway because of a tightly packed group of cars going about 70. I quickly, but not aggressively, made my way to the left hand lane to get by them. This put me directly behind a shiny new red mustang. Now mind you, I did nothing to provoke this guy and I was not tailgating him. He pulled into the middle lane to let me pass, which I did at a constant 80mph. When I was about 40 ft in front I pulled into the middle lane (I even used my turn signal). At this point he quickly jumps to the left lane and start to overtake me. Thus, I did what anyone would do, drop it into 4th. (There was absolutely no one in front of us for at least a mile and no on ramps for at least 2 miles.) I thought that if he was wanting to go that he would pull up beside me and let me know, however, he must have decided that he needed the jump. Right when he got along side and I was looking over at him to see if he wanted to play he punched it. That caught me off guard and I immediately dropped back by 3/4 cl. I floored it in 4th and to my surprise I pulled on him very easily. By the time I hit redline and shifted he was way back. At 125 I tapped the brakes and slowed to 75 thinking that he might want to go again. Alas, he came flying by at about 95 without even a wave.

I have no idea what model stang he was in but it appeared bone stock and did not have wing on back. For all I know, it could have been a 6-cyl. Oh well, he started it.

Since this is my first post in this section I need to mention that my '03M3 is stock (old-fashioned 6 speed).

Nice one Tim.

Now, don't be like that, be nice to your car and MOD IT!

Money for mods is hard to come by at the moment. All my extra cash goes towards my motorcycle racing:)

I do plan on going with a non-staggered wheel setup and suspension for track and auto-x. Then when AA finally gets that SC ready, well now we're talking bang for the buck as far as HP is concerned.

an 03 m3 should have no trouble, especially up top, with just about any mustang, except a new cobra, or otherwise forced induced stang.... nice kill...

AA and other tuners are just now coming out with worthwhile e46 mods, before you could drop 1k for 10hp.

Nice kill!! I would say either V6 or bullit. These are the only new model lil' ponies without the wing to my knowledge.

Good kill

He could've been wingless, but a GT is no match for a newer M3 unless it's modded. I ran one before I blew my motor and he left me @ 130 like I was doing nothing....truely an impressive sight!

Hey, another Birmingham guy. :)

nice kill. Where on 459 was this?

And, forgive me, what does 'PY' mean?

I was heading West on 459 having entered from Grants Mill Road. PY - Pheonix Yellow or my sisters version BPY - Baby Poop Yellow. When you see me on the streets, you'll know, I think I'm the only PY in the area.

Cool. I was thinking it had something to do with yellow, but i haven't seen a yellow E46 M3 around town. Wasn't sure if it was a color code or not.

That is a nice section of road you decided to school him on, heh.
