Lemming

Well, I'd been sitting in front of my computer trying to catch up on my work load when I had a desire for a beer. Low and behold, when I went to the frig there wasn't a single bottle to be found. So, I jumped in the PY and headed for Super Wally World to stock my frig. I haven't been in the car since Saturday because of the rain, so I decided to take the long way and get in some driving. There is a long downhill on-ramp going to I-459 that I love to run and this time was no different. I was forced to slow as I was entering the highway because of a tightly packed group of cars going about 70. I quickly, but not aggressively, made my way to the left hand lane to get by them. This put me directly behind a shiny new red mustang. Now mind you, I did nothing to provoke this guy and I was not tailgating him. He pulled into the middle lane to let me pass, which I did at a constant 80mph. When I was about 40 ft in front I pulled into the middle lane (I even used my turn signal). At this point he quickly jumps to the left lane and start to overtake me. Thus, I did what anyone would do, drop it into 4th. (There was absolutely no one in front of us for at least a mile and no on ramps for at least 2 miles.) I thought that if he was wanting to go that he would pull up beside me and let me know, however, he must have decided that he needed the jump. Right when he got along side and I was looking over at him to see if he wanted to play he punched it. That caught me off guard and I immediately dropped back by 3/4 cl. I floored it in 4th and to my surprise I pulled on him very easily. By the time I hit redline and shifted he was way back. At 125 I tapped the brakes and slowed to 75 thinking that he might want to go again. Alas, he came flying by at about 95 without even a wave.
I have no idea what model stang he was in but it appeared bone stock and did not have wing on back. For all I know, it could have been a 6-cyl. Oh well, he started it.
Since this is my first post in this section I need to mention that my '03M3 is stock (old-fashioned 6 speed).
