Hey All-

Thanks to all the good advice on this forum I worked my way through some maintenance on my 99 328is...Fuel Filter, Differential Oil, Micro filter and Air Filter. I tried to change the transmission fluid (manual) but couldn't get the fill plug out. I succeeded in rounding it slightly so I know I'll have to change it when I do get it out (I now have a cheater bar but the damage was already done). Have any of you had luck with those toothy sockets that supposedly get rounded bolts off?

Also, since the transmission and differential fluids are supposed to be Lifetime, BMW doesn't offer a change schedule for them. Now that I'm using Redline fluids and tracking the car occasionally how often should they be changed?

I don't know the answers to either Q myself, but you may want to ask the fluid change question in the Track / Autox forum. Those guys know their stuff.
