Hi All,
I was redoing the front end of my e24 1986 tow mule.
I had changed the bushings, springs and struts last year.
I was adding the lower links, the steering center link, and rod ends to give it a fresh feel.
While the steering links were loose I was resting my arm on the strut that still had the thrust link hooked up.
I noticed movement on the R/F
I found the eurothane bushing on the thrust link had play if nothing else was attached.
I contacted the vendor and he sent a replacement.
I tool the old one out with a hammer, but the new one was a lot tighter. I had to max out a 30 ton press to get it in.
Just a hint for those prying around looking for looseness.
It is the one directly behind the exhaust shield.
I was suspect of over temp but found the install lubrication still smeared every where.
OK, now I am off to the basement to finish it up and do a guick toe in setting.
