I know that almost all or if not all 2 door E36s had rear folding seats, and on the 4 doors it was an option.... but for E46 im not to sure.

I believe fold down rear seats were standard on coupes..... no idea bout the sedans....

Edmunds.com has it listed as an option for the 1999 328i (E46). My sedan does have the split folding rear seat and the ski bag.
