Ok, well I just finished ordering my new Clarion MP3 H/U, Farenheit 7" LCD/TFT hi-res screen, and a DVD/VCD/SVCD/MP3/CD/CD-R/TV Tuner unit a few minutes ago.
I plan on installing the screen in the OBC/Sunglass Tray area--the size of the screen with it's frame almost perfectly matches the opening's dimensions; the DVD Player in the glovebox; and the headunit will obviously replace the factory unit. I expect to have much better sound with the stock HK speakers/amp and of course all the fun of the video capabilities.
I don't think that there will be enough room for the OBC in the glovebox, so do you guys have any suggestions for placement? I dont wanna put it in the center cup-holder console either, but that leaves me with nowhere I guess :az:. I'll have to think about that more.
Since my car is basically a garage queen while the salt rules the roads, I've started ripping out the interior so I can start fitting the screen once it gets here. The screen looks great; no frilly buttons or silver faceplates on the screen--just a subtle classy black frame. I hope to make this install as stock-looking as possible.
Here's what the interior looks like as of tonight; I'm gonna try and do the install without removing the center console around the shifter, but if it's too difficult, I'll remove it later:
