I'm trying to find out if there is any interest in slotted rotors. I'm located in Orlando and my friend just did his rotors and would be willing to do this for any bimmer owners in the area. He's a mechanical engineer and an accomplished machinist so you don't have anything to worry about. Here's what he posted on another forum:
If you want, I'm feeling generous, I will slot your rotors. If you have cheap $25 Discount auto parts rotors that you want to look all pricey and whatnot, or you want the degassing effect cause your running organic pads PM me. The slots are cut with a ball end mill, so there are no sharp edges aka stress risers to cause cracking. I can put holes in them too, but they are usually better if they are cast in (but I will still do it, with generous chamfers both sides). I can also redrill for a different bolt pattern as well. Tell me how many slots 6, 8 or 10 and give me a couple days, voila, you get this: (these are on my Lincoln right now, and work great)

Let me know if anybody is interested. Pricing will probably be between $20 and $30 per rotor, slotted front and back, dependent on the number of slots.
