I have a 1995 740i - the climate contol - heating is all over the place - set it at 64 degrees and its ok and then it heats the car up to 80 -

this espcially happens when the outside temperature is at 50 to 70 degrees - like the heater wont shut off - never just on vent mode.

any help would be appriciated

You may have a clogged thermostat inlet. There is a little inlet on the AC unit that draws in air to measure temperature. I can't remember what it looks like on the 95 module - I replaced my unit (3 minute job) with a later style unit. I found mine from Bavauto or one of the other salvage yards for around $300. It's a nice upgrade and eliminates some of the problems associated with the 95 units (erratic operation).

where is this sensor located?

also justs above the ac button is a sensor - waht is that?

are there any tests to verify this prior to spending 3 bill?
