View Full Version : BMW Dealers/Shops in La Jolla Area
SR20Fastback 01-16-2004, 06:44 PM Hey Guys, Im looking for any BMW dealers or shops near La Jolla. I don't know too much about the area, other than I will be living in or near UTC. I don't want to have to travel a whole hell of a lot or hit a lot of traffic. Also, does anyone work at any of said shops that might want to put in a good word for a soon to be starving young tech? I will probably be moving late august/early september!
It will nice to be on SoCal for a while, it rains too much in the winter here :)
CarbonBlkE36 01-16-2004, 10:32 PM yo san diego sucks, i hate it!!!
soon to be starving young tech, u may wanna look at the 76 station over on pearl in la jolla, thats ur best bet, there is a car wash down the street too............ good luck
SR20Fastback 01-17-2004, 11:48 PM umm thanks? Either way Im still moving down, I was just wondering how many BMW dealers are in the area or other reputable shops.
Silex 01-18-2004, 02:45 AM I'll recommend the only place I've ever gone to and that's Sport Utility Motorcars on Mirmamar Blvd. Ask for Behr and tell him the Violet M3 guy sent ya! His rates are reasonable at $70/hr and he just replaced my fuel filter the other day for a half hour charge (that thing's a beoch). Contact him at 858-453-6234. Exact address is 8448 Miracrest Place, Ste. E, San Diego, CA 92121.
BTW, I live on Nobel and Lebon so I'm as close to UTC as you can get :D. I wish I could show you the ropes around SD, but I suck with directions :(. I really don't know where squat is.
As for dealerships, the only one I can remember off the top of my head is Cunningham, but hoepfully that's the only place you need to go to (not to mention it's the closest).

SR20Fastback 01-18-2004, 02:59 AM awesome thanks man. Im looking at the costa verde apartments. I'll look into this dealer, and see what they can offer me for employment :)

BZZZ! Wrong! I'm a bit closer to UTC -- over about a block towards UC High School on Genesee. :stickoutt
Anyways BMW of San Diego is about 8 minutes from UTC dude. It's in Clairemont, the next "town" down. You'll wanna check them out... www.bmwofsandiego.com ...or something like that.
SR20Fastback 01-18-2004, 04:57 PM I'll try that place too. Anyone good with the service managers?

20 years in business, corner of eastgate mall and auto port mall almost, behind the 76 station, u can get ur car serviced there but i don't think they'll hook u up with a jobby job

BAH! :stickoutt
CarbonBlkE36 01-18-2004, 05:43 PM silex btw incase u didn't know, lebon and nobel is still considered University City, u gotta live west of villa la jolla drive to be in la jolla, FYI, i hated telling people i lived in la jolla, they think our noses are up there, but whatever, they can kiss my ass!!
Ben Carufel 01-19-2004, 01:09 AM Yea those apartments back in there are still UC fo sho. You have to live west of I-5 to be in "La Jolla"...even though the 92037 zip code does extend over towards Costa Verde a little.
318daily 01-19-2004, 11:03 AM On your way to BWM of San Diego don't forget to stop at the drug store for a package of vaseline. Wear sweatpants for easy access.
I recommend you navigate your ultimate driving machine up to Brecht BMW. Check out their website (brechtbmw.com) and use mapquest.com.
Ben Carufel 01-19-2004, 01:02 PM
Agreed! I wouldn't have my car serviced at BMWSD, but he is looking for a BMW-related job...and that's the closest $tealership to where he'll be living.
Well if you are on your way over to BMW of SD (who i wouldn't really recoment, but whatever) stop on by Black Forrest... they are at 8066 Engineer Rd... They do AWESOME work and personally i have never really heard anything bad about them, but they are quite pricey... I have had them work on my Porsche before and they are great... One downfall of Black Forrest however is that for major work, last time i checked there was a 2 week waiting list...
Cheers,
Jonas
SR20Fastback 01-19-2004, 04:18 PM Good at least theres work to be had. Okay so I've got about 3 dealers to hit, and a few independents. Thanks guys, keep 'em coming!
One last note, I've met quite a few of the SD people, but are the rest of you as cool as us bay bimmerz?
