I was wondering if anyone has ever had a very distinct rattle in the front end in their 5 series when you go over any bumps in the road. You can only hear it with the window open. Its starting to annoy me.

Does anyone know what I am talking about and how much was it to fix.

your sway links are bad. Cheap and easy fix. You hear a clank going over bumps. The Links tie the swap bars to the car. Jack the car up and check them.

I have the same problem and i just replaced my links. That was not the problem.

Anything up front can be the problem. Sway bar links, bushings, and upper strut mounts are common sources of a noise when tranversing bumps.
