Hi.

Can anyone please recommend a good repair shop in Sacramento? I'm tired of going to the dealer, as they are obviously far more expensive than an independent shop.

Thanks,
Drjones

Funny you should mention them. I just booked an appointment with them for this Thursday to replace my thermostat and the housing because its leaking.

I called Lubo's Bavarian, Autostaat European, and a non-specific shop, Automasters. All wanted $160 or so.

Schatz & Krum quoted me $90 total. :alright

I called my tire shop, whom we've been doing business with for 30+ years. They service all sorts of cars; BMW, Benz, they've even had a few Ferraris and Lamborghinis!

He actually told me that he's heard a few complaints about Schatz & Krum from some of his customers.

I figure for about half the money, I'll give them a shot...

I'll post my thoughts of them here if anyone is interested...

those were simple jobs you could have done yourself...real easy do it your selfer jobs.

anyways, you should get involved in the sacramento area bmw club that is really growing( and fast too ).

check out the regional forums and then go to california.. you'll see the sac threads:)

Well, I haven't taken it in yet, so I can still cancel the appointment and do it myself.

Is it really that easy? Where is the thermostat on a 2000 328i?

Do I have to get under the car?

I'd like to do it myself...

And I will check out the Sac BMW club! :)
