I plan on going to Raleigh this weekend to look at a car. I'd like suggestions as to where I might take it for a pre-purchase inspection, if the car seems as good as it looks. Anyone have a favorite shop they'd like to pass along? Do you know if they're open on Saturday afternoons?

TIA,

I've got a great mechanic I take my car to. He works for Leith BMW but does work on the side at his father's shop. He's a BMW certified tech and is ASE certified and has been at Leith for over 5 years and in the industry for 15 years. His name is Brian ... you can reach him at bkp65@mindspring.com. His rates are very good.

Thanx for the info, Pat.

Unfortunately, the deal fell through & I did not go to Raleigh last weekend. Bummer.

Anywho, if a car turns up in this area again, I'll have the name of a good resource.

Also heard about Truett Ray and Deitrich, mechanics at a small shop called Shade Tree mechanics, or something close. Email me if you want their numbers.

best,

If you can hop on I-40 over to Cary, check out Eurospeed Performance. They're a board sponsor and Alex is great to work with. Their contact information and more is available here: http://www.eurospeedperformance.com/

Jeff,

I don't have their number, but have asked guy originally selling the E30 I was to see in Raleigh for their number. Will let you know when I know.
