... the next auto-x season with CFR SCCA is starting up. We need more BMWs at the Central Florida events. Next Sunday (1/18) there is an event at Gainesville Raceway. Be there - no excuses ;)

Just got back from Deland autox

The course was kind of weird it was on a long runway so it was an up and back style course with one corner and lots of slaloms

I dont think I saw you there ( I hope I would notice your car )

Gainesville is a little far away ( like 6-7 hours ) so i dont think ill be able to make this one but maybe another Gainesville event

Any drag racing involved or only course racing?

I was at the Deland autox and remember seeing your car. I was driving a silver 4d M3. I ended up winning the novice class by 2 sec with a 43.2. My friend with the black M3 took 3rd. I'll be on the look out for you at the next autox. :alright

I wish I could make it to this event but I'll be changing the clutch in the miata this weekend. :(

ya I remember seeing your car there too. congrats on the win I was also in the novice class but I only managed to pull a 49.something
I was having trouble adapting to the course, and my small tires really hated that surface

I didn't go the Deland one - I was still finishing up the car. However, I am ready to get out there and drive hard this Sunday.

Come on... Monday is MLK day, a holiday .... this is a good event to go to. GIR is a very nice place to auto-x.

It sucks, but I have work on Monday. We had a plant shutdown over christmas and I got almost two weeks off, but no MLK and a couple other holidays.

I remember seeing you last year at the race rock thing, before the supercharger. Hopefully I'll run into you at some futue events b/c I'd really like to check out the blower. Good luck this weekend and have good time. Get some pics and post them.

That was definitely a tough course. I almost spun out the first run and went off course. I thought I was going be pretty pathetic but I got the hang of it. My results were something like:

dnf
44.8
44.3
43.2

I had a great time and I can't wait to get to another event. You ran in the third heat didn't you. I didn't really get to see you run.

ya i ran in the third heat

on my second run i did spin out but i just nailed a few cones. it was at the end of the first staight away and i was going way too fast for the corner and my tires

i have a few low res vids of my runs im going up load soon

Can't wait to see the vids. I'm going to need to get a video camera sometime soon.

I just checked the Deland results, you really decimated the Novice class :buttrock You sure you haven't auto-xed before?

Anyway, final preparations to the car will be made on Saturday. I have to switch the wheels, install the check valve upgrade, then do some performance testing :D Will post a video sometime after the event. Hopefully it won't rain, although that has been fun in the past.

I'll be there as well this Sunday, hopefully some other E36 M3s will be present. :)

The Deland event was my last my last chance in Novice for SCCA. It was my 3rd event. I have done one Martin sports car club event in Tavares and one PCA event , but that's the extent of my Auto-X experience.
