View Full Version : Question for 318ti guys, what size tires are you running? ClubSport332ti 12-30-2003, 10:54 AM Just curious, my rear tires are rubbing and i dont want to roll my fenders so I need to get new rear tires. ClubSport332ti 12-30-2003, 10:55 AM sorry tires size is 245/40/18 rear and 225/40/18 front. Budget M3 12-30-2003, 09:53 PM I've got 235/40-17's all around on my '98 with a set of ACS springs (about 1" lower than stock sport package). I only get rubbing when I've got the rear hatch loaded down with luggage, etc....and then only when hitting a BIG BUMP in the road. Track days in an unloaded car have no rubbing at all. If you can find 18-inchers in a 235 width they should fit fine. However, using a staggered front/rear setup on the ti may yield more understeer than you'd like. It looks cool, but handling is compromised as a result. My recommendation, for what it is worth, would be to stick with 225's all around, or add 235's all around if you can find them... Hope this helps...Good luck! moku 01-05-2004, 09:15 PM Originally posted by Budget M3 I've got 235/40-17's all around You're running a 40 sidewall? I'm rolling on 235/45-17s all around; which I thought was the correct plus-sizing for our cars. Is the smaller sidewall throwing your speedometer off much? Edens 01-06-2004, 01:23 PM I'm running TIRES 215/45ZR17 Front 245/40ZR17 Rear WHEELS 17x8.5 Front 17x9.5 Rear with no rubbing at all. Car is a 1995 ti with the sport package so it is about 3/4 to 1 inch lower than a normal ti. I'm looking for some H&R or Eibach springs if any body knows anybody that wants to sell some. |
