or is that lame? $198 each for pole position s03 to match my fronts at tire rack, and discount tire direct doesn't have them. my mechanic wants $10 each to mount and balance and i'll check out the rear shock mounts while the wheels are off.

mixing is lame and could lead to adverse handling

You can mix tires... just make sure they are in the same performance group. (max performance, summer, radial, all-season etc.).

I would make sure you have the same tires on each axle tho. ie. Michelin Pilot Sport on the front axle, Bridgestone S03 on the rear axle.

I wouldn't run a Kumho front with a Bridgestone rear.

I agree you can, but imagine taking a turn fast that your better front tires handle, but your rears cant. you spin out where you normally would have either not had the confidence (all tires cant handle it) or been fine (all tires can handle it). S03s will be grippier than a cheap alternative.

Currently, due to a flat, I'm using my 235/40/17 Mich Sport which was/is my spare on rr. Other side is P7000 235/40/18.
Handles fine until i decide which tires to replace all with.
Flat tire is not worth repairing.

Of course this is for the short term.
I would pair them ordinarily if i did not want to buy all the same brand at one time.

I have AVS-i in front and kumho MX on the rear wheels. I even goto track events with them. I know the AVS will slip a little sooner than the MX so it's not a problem. What's a little more under steer, right?

actually my car is still pretty neutral due to the spring rates and extra camber up front.
