The paint on my door posts between the front and rear doors on my e36 is almost a flat black. It gets dirty with finger prints and I don't think I should wax that type of paint. Anyone have a good way to clean flat black paint to make it look new again? :dunno

You can wax it, but it sounds like you've got some oxidation on it. Try Klasse All-In-One. Good protectant and removes oxidation. Then just wax with whatever you normally use.
