I would like to see some pics of people's stereos in their E36's. Please post your pics and show off your gear/handywork.. especially interested in any custom sub enclosures that would fit in the left rear recess of the trunk where the amp is...

thanks...

It is made by this company overseas:

http://www.autoacoustics.com/subwoofflatpk.htm

I have been working with them a bit on getting one, but overseas shipping for one of them plus the cost and conversion rate makes it a bit expensive. Maybe we could get a group buy going for them? You can get one for either side of the trunk, so essentially you could have 2 12's and still have most of your trunk.

They can be made for 12's, 10's, or 8's. I think one 10 would be very nice sounding.

Audioman...

I priced it out on their site and it was $200 plus $100 shipping from the UK to the US.... ouch... however my local shop wanted $500 to fabricate something like that as well.. I wonder what you would need to use with the fiberglass to make it stronger, it would need something else in the fiberglass mix or it would crack from the bass.. possibly.

I take it that amber is one of it's alternate color schemes?? I like how that so closely matches the rest of the console lights. Sweet ... Nice setup all the way 'round! :)

Hey AudioMan,

I was checking out their website and was wondering what's the purpose of the stealth-shelves? are they for adding speakers OR are the shelves made of some type of cloth material so more bass can come from the trunk to the cabin?

Nice! Are those custom boxes or off store bought? If store bought what model are they? Could you still get the spare out?

That is a good question. I am not really sure what those shelves are really for. Maybe to mount 6X9's to or something. They are made for cars like the WRX wagon where you want something solid in the rear. They are not for our cars so I was really not concerned about them.

Custom made!!! The whole concept was so I could still get to the spare. The only problem was that I had to take them apart to replace a bulb.

Dean do you ahve a lot of trunkspace after that setup and also does it make the passengers extremely uncomfortable with that setup, which makes the seat rattle more then most, I know I almost feel naucious in my friends car when sitting in the back seat..
