View Full Version : Ok -- So where is Clauid(e)(io) & other Questions / Thoughts....???
jayadam63 12-19-2003, 11:34 AM Oh Claud(e)(io)!!!!
Ok ok... I admit it. I miss the irrational communication. I admit it. Trying to decode some of the statements was just like working for the armed services at wartime. The best was the argument that FAN CLUTCHES don't explode. No kidding -- they freeze and then the FAN's explode. That was a hoot.
My name is Jay and I'm a Claud(e)(io)-a-holic.
Onward....
While I'm asking -- has anyone noticed how fu**cking cold it's gotten? :dunno It was 42 degrees down here in SOUTH Florida. All is not right with the universe. Still, the fart echo is much louder in the 7 when the leather is cold....
Just changed the drivers side power window / mirror switch assembly. Crever $197 -- Salvage $125 -- eBay $31.50 delivered. :alright Boo Yea!
I get eBay -- Do you?
This is the first attempt at the signature block -- Hope it looks good. Is there a test forum over here? Where is the porn forum? Maybe their is a escort service directory (I mean date) too? Just suggestions.
Hey dudes.....

Hey dudes.....
Your signature looks damn good, don't forget to post the link in the Official Car Pics Links (http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=157527) thread here.
As for your other questions, you've been here since April and haven't made it into the OFF TOPIC Forum (http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=121) to satisfy your, umm, needs. :D
And finally, the TESTING Forum (http://www.bimmerforums.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=123) is also at your disposal.

PS: I think someone must have pissed Cladio off because he hasn't been around in awhile. :dunno

jayadam63 12-19-2003, 03:02 PM This is an intersting place.
I figured I'd give a peek :toiletman over here and see what's going on. I'd passed by here back in the early summer and it was so slow that it wasn't so much fun.
Maybe now it will be better. Still, the RF board has some of the most "interesting" communications, even when they're not intended to be.
C-ya around, Sean!
F Johnny Klyde 12-19-2003, 03:06 PM i hope Claud(e)(io) wasn't driven (get it, driven..? :) ) to do something stupid like run his car off a bridge with his girlfriend in the trunk who was pregnant with his kid...... thanks EMINEM.
Reed Hunt 12-19-2003, 03:46 PM Welcome Jay.
I frequent both boards, and I must say the RF has gotten really boring (and light in traffic) since Jack (Flying High) incited a riot over there!
(Jack's on his way to Hawaii, so he probably will never know I said this!!!!).
AutoPilot 12-19-2003, 04:36 PM How did you do you signature? Mine is amateurish compared to yours.
Next the cold, yea it is cold here in Central Virginia too. I blame my latest problem on it.
Wife saw a check brake lights warning and sure enough, no driver’s side brake lights.
The worst side to work on.
No fuse to be found anywhere.
Almost read the entire TIS CD looking for clues.
Turns out that the insulation from the wire I used, to jumper the brake light for the quad effect, had retracted just enough for the bare wire to make contact with the ground circuit.
The lights were working for 3 month after the mod.
I blame the cold weather, not me, of course.
I lifted the wire a little and squirted some silicone in there as an insulator.
First you must know I use silicone on just about everything so …
My wife has declared the job complete and gave me an atta boy even though it was my fault to begin with.
Wiseguy ON 12-19-2003, 04:47 PM Jay! You made it!
Speaking of eBay... if all goes right today, I am seriously loveing eBay

BTW -- How do I stop these Fu**cking emails? I turned it off in the preferences but it still won't stop. :bawl
Roy Cya 12-19-2003, 05:08 PM Jay,
BTW, the last time Claudio posted here was on the 14th when he was saying he was going to go on overseas duty and that god bless the queen or something to that effect. He hates all of us and we will not be going to heaven any time soon...:bawl
Anyway, I thought that was funny since he's still posting over at RF... First I thought he was a student, then a professor, then an older retired gentleman, and last... Hell, I don't even know!:dunno
Bill,
more info!!!!!! Did you hit Jackpot!!! Sounds like I'm gonna an e30 for free!!! :D

As of this writing it's a $4,550 and has 32 minutes to go. I paid $2,150 for it and spent another $400 on it getting it ready.
I'm tickled pink.
Roy Cya 12-19-2003, 07:30 PM Yep, that's a good day in my book!! Way to go man!

Aussie740Limo 12-20-2003, 12:30 AM When I catch up with you Bill and I see you hobbling about, I'll know you dropped your wallet on your foot!
Not a bad earn for an old Hand Over, mate - looks Ok for the age.
I see you punish yourself with Pommy cars - there's an old couple down the road from us with an old Vauxy Velox (think Pom version of '59 Chev) and it looks a nice old jigger.
Did you get my email about the Aussie Customline and Aussie Chevy utes, mate?
Cheers
JOHN
P.S. Glad to see you Jay - sorry to hijack your thread, champ.

ericw 12-20-2003, 12:48 AM Aren't you the guy who used to go to the Sunshine 7 meets? Claudio is enjoying his Christmas present. We all pitched in and bought him some psychotherapy sessons.
Roy Cya 12-20-2003, 12:58 AM Yeah, the multiple personalities were too damn much to keep up with...!
Jay will make our next one, right? We'll even make it close to, if not in your neck of the woods...

Sure -- if it's down here that would be great!
Did you ever get your check engine light diagnosed? Mine is a bank #1 catalyst efficiency warning. I'm just living with it.
I'd really like to find a way to hard wire those post-cat sensors to disable them. Anyone know how to do that?
Wiseguy ON 12-21-2003, 12:17 AM Goddammit.
My MINT 1995 850 Turbo just did $4,600. Would have done better at an auction.
Win some, lose some.
John, I know what an old Vauxhall Velox is :D
There are 12 "PA" Vauxhalls in America ('58-'62 Velox and Cresta)
I own 5 of em. Thought you knew that?

Jay, I had the same problem with my '97 at 50k miles. Turns out it was the factory cat's going bad. Dealer replaced both cat's with the "older" style. No problems since then! This was done for free  as BMW has a 8yr./80,000 mile warranty on emission parts. You may want to look into this ASAP.

jayadam63 12-21-2003, 04:59 PM Thanks Bob --
My car has 101,500 miles on it and I just replaced the cats with magnaflow 53005's which are the cause of the problem. They were $50 each so I can live with the light if I have to. I just wish there was a way to either tell the OBC II not to check the post cat sensors or to hard wire them so it thinks all is fine....

Bugger me - no I didn't know, mate. There's a really active club here in Oz (you probably knew that too!), and a bloke I worked with has a Vagabond convertible tourer. An old fella I knew that owned a GM service agency has a 1925 Prince of Wales 25hp tourer as well. Holden had a good look at their product line-up in '67, and as well as Holdens, they had Pontiacs and Chevrolets (by now positioned as luxury cars) as well as seperate dealerships handling Vauxhalls. Holden decided to flick Ponty & Chevy and make their own home-grown luxury car, and replaced Vauxhall's economical line-up with their own small car the Torana. The Vauxhall dealerships were either compensated by allowing them to take on the Holden line-up, or being paid to close.
Australia's second-biggest swap meet is on at the end of January in Toowoomba, 90 mins drive west of Brissie. If you need anything, let me know.

Wiseguy ON 12-21-2003, 09:21 PM John,
If you EVER see a chrome strip for the front bonnet of a 1960-62 PA Vauxhall (Slightly curved) in good shape, lemme know.......... They are like rocking horse shit!
So, if you ever see one, I need one badly!
I have the following:
1959 "3-Window" Velox (Rusty as hell, going to get a ground-up resto)
1960 Velox parts car
1960 Velox decent shape, driver.
1961 Cresta Hydramatic project, but VERY solid.
1962 Velox Semi-Rusty project.
I also have a 1958 Zephyr 6 Mk2 Highline project that runs strong.
I knoew about Vauxhalls in Oz.. but didn't know when GMH ditched the program. I do know that PA Vauxhalls from Oz were built by GMH and have different color combos and interior trim, I think they were built from Knock-Down kits to avoid taxes.
Next time I go to Oz I need to hit an autojumble!
Aussie740Limo 12-21-2003, 10:00 PM Got three guys digging in their sheds as I type this...I'll come back to ya when I hear from them.
Let me know if you ever see any #1 or #2 condition '61 Fleetwood sedans, preferably white or black with all the toys working.
Cheers
JOHN
Wiseguy ON 12-22-2003, 02:19 AM Awesome! I need one for my '61 Cresta!
61-2 Fleetwood? I will keep an eye open.. haven't seen a nice one of them in forever
